Honda Monk, the kat kat (or is it more like tik-tik-tik-tik) while turning is the driveshaft making noise. Probably the CV joints have to be repaired. The rubber boots tear and the grease inside it leaks out causing the joints to get dry.
If you want to, you can get it replaced, the repair job done is also good enough. I got mine done (repaired) around 10k back, no issues whatsoever. Cost me arnd 1200/- or so each IIRC. Take it to a mech, ask him to take a look.
does anybody know how to get service manual and/or user manual for OHC? can we still order them from the Honda Service Centers? OR if anyone in Mumbai can lend me one for some time, i can make a copy. any links to download in PDF format would help too.

I have an OHC 1.5 exi manual and can lend it to you for a short time if you need.
Just how do we get in touch?
I am still looking for service manual. Will share the details with you if I lay my hands on one. Trying to get in touch with someone in Honda (I had many friends working for Honda in Gurgaon at a time but all of them have moved now) to help me out with service manual.

It is so kind of you to make this offer; I just bought OHC manual (was listed in TBHP classifieds) for 500 bucks. Hunt for a service manual is still ON.
Guys my Honda City 1.5Exi is currently going through a Major Mid Life Makeover.Any idea how much do Bumper Corners cost?
My OHC had a crash and the front was badly damaged, presently the car is at Travancore Restoration.
I'm looking for an original OHC front Grill, (besides the zillion things that need fixing)
I'm also wondering if its time to install a FFE. Any suggestions?

sorry to hear about the accident and i hope the driver and passengers were unhurt.
if the exhaust system needs replacement, then it would be a good time to go for FFE (original exhaust headers, muffler, etc. would set you back by approx. 30,000).
if you get hold of the original OHC grill, please share the details (source and cost) on the forum. i spent some time looking for one but no one seemed to have it in stock at that time; however i found only the plastic part of grill (fresh piece) (without chrome borders and logo) and i was told the price as 300 rupee without a negotiation; it was in Chor Bazar Mumbai.

Sorry to hear this. Hope passengers were unhurt.
A couple of years ago, when our OHC was totalled, it was bought by a guy in Karunagapally. Also I hear that there is a scrap yard near Anchal where you can buy used parts. I'll trace both contact numbers and share.
Regards,

Dhar and Infotech - Thank you for asking, Yes nobody's hurt! I was alone, I escaped scratch less
There was a Jeep with a 'ladder' tied to the top :Frustrati they appeared from 'nowhere' out of a road on the right, and took a turn the left turn, basically passing like a sledge hammer in front of my wind screen..
I jammed my brakes. I steered left, missed the ladder, left wheels went off-road, locked (no ABS) skided and hit an uprooted tree trunk.
Well, the lack of ABS is the problem area in regards to the thread.:-)
The restore work is coming on well, the hood is done, i think the grill is maybe the only issue, all parts required have been ordered
johnda - you can check at Mahaveer at GP road - Chennai ( sorry are you from Chennai ? )

Yes. the paintjob is done. I have not clicked any pictures yet; probably will try some tomorrow; if that happens, will post them here.
Hello - Sorry, my query is regarding the 2nd gen city and I thought this is the best place to post this since I couldnt find any other related threads. One of my colleagues bought an pre-owned honda city gxi, 2005 model. This car has been fitted with free flow exhaust and ever since the driving on water logged roads post the monsoon, the oil pressure indicator is always on while driving. Earlier it used to come on and go off intermittently, but now it is permanently on all the times. The car drives normally otherwise and no other issues observed.
Honda has suggested him to remove all aftermarket accessories and I wanted to take your opinion before approaching an independent garage for help. This looks like an electrical (sensor?) issue since the engine oil level is normal when checked via the dipstick. However I'm not too sure and look upto you for some advice.
What could be the reason behind this and any suggestions for a solution? Thanks in advance for your time.

Hey Ryan
I am also in the process of revamping my OHC.
Giving you the prices I inquired in Delhi from a reliable supplier.
Head Lamps both Stanley - 3800 ; Depo - 2700
Front Grill (Taiwan) - 1500
Brake Pads (Nissin) - 850
What I couldn't get and still looking for are the Monograms and Door Beads.
Lots of aftermarket available but none similar to OE.
I have tried few shops in Kashmiri gate too.
Can anyone please let me know where can I get these in Delhi, any specific shop please refer.
Thanks!
