Maruti-Suzuki Chassis Number Decoding As shown in the picture above Maruti- Suzuki Chassis Number has 21 Characters including the special characters. The Chassis number is embossed on the metal body and same can be found in the engine bay compartment. The Last 2 characters of the chassis number represents the MONTH and YEAR respectively. As you can see in the above picture its showing as L6 which means its a NOVEMBER 2006 manufactured Vehicle. Most of the new Maruti-Suzuki Chassis number starts with MA3 unlike the one shown in the picture. The other month codes are giving below A= JAN B= FEB C= MAR D= APR E= MAY F= JUNE G= JULY H= AUG J= SEP K= OCT L= NOV M= DEC The YEAR codes A=2010 9=2009 8=2008 7=2007 6=2006 5=2005 |

From the code i'm not getting anything. But you can compare the last VIN with this. The production serial number you have given in the last VIN is 23707 (MAT613281ALG23707). What about the last 5 numbers in your present VIN? Is there is any significant difference? The least you can guess is , imagine TATA produces a minimum of 1000 vehicles in a Month, then if its a December make it should start with 8xxx Also Ask for the Form-22 in which production month and year will be mentioned. |

Wildon, thanks for reply. Now the full VIN is, MAT613281ALP36720 [that means approx. 13000 is the difference between now (36720) and earlier (23707)] However, what this 'P' stands for? I am confused since as you mentioned earlier for december 'M' alphabet should be there and not 'P'. |

A user already confirmed that he got a VIN which has N and confirmed from the form-22 that its November 2010 manufactured. So in your case its P makes me believes that its December 2010 manufactured vehicle only. Letter O not used to avoid confusion with 0 (zero). Anyways please do double check with Form-22 also. |
