My Civic performs best with normal unleaded petrol from Shell. Everytime I use premium fuels like Shell Super or BP Speed or IOC Xtra premium, I find the low end performance to be poor, a sort of tendency to knock.

Yes I do agree the same, after using many type I realized IOC 91 octane is best one in all City.

In Bangalore I found Shell is best fuel. I can see better performance increased FE with Shell Premium Petrol.

I rate like this Shell -> IOC -> BP.

Ravi.

Shell is the best.

Though i didnt notice any diffence in FE between Shell Super and Normal. Pick up and engine smoothness increases witht Shell super.

I've been using Shell Premium from the time Shell landed in Bangalore. Many folks recommended this for better FE.

Recently, on my way to Kodai, for lack of a Shell outlet around I filled up (HP Power) from an HP station. I found this has given the car a much better push/drive, especially during the ghat driving.

(HP was my preferred brand before shell, for my previous cars and RX100).

I make it a point to refill at Shell whenever possible. The nearest bunk near my house is IOC. Therefore I end up filling at IOC most of the times. I feel the FE is better at Shell.

I use Undulterated Extra premium for my baleno. This seems to give me satisfactory performace. Speed is also quite good which i try couple of times. motivated to try shell after the reviews here, problem is, in hyderabad i know of only one shell station and that is in the middle of the town. It will be quite a drive just to fill fuel....

I use normal unleaded fuel(HP mostly else BP) for both Bike & Car & am very satisfied with its outcome. Have also used IOC EP & though the mileag was slightly better I have found the car to overall perform better with normal fuel.

I use HP Normal for My Indigo. Whenever I used Power or Extra premium, car pickup was a problematic.

Till two months back I was sticking to IOC and avoided rest of them. But from last 2 months onwards I have switched to HP-unleaded.. The Fuel efficency and performance is superior on my VTEC and I would rate HP Unleaded to be best. But need to fill up from decent geniune petrol pump.

Good to see lot of responses. How do we find out whether the petrol bunk wallas are looting us with a incorrect dispensing machine? One way is to use a 10 litre can as someone said in another thread. But this is cumbersome. You need to carry the can everytime you want to fill petrol and also the pain of filling the petrol for yourself.
Is there a better way out? I am told that when you fill a full tank, there is always a chance, they may fill atleast 1-2 litres less.
Please clarify. Thanks
Arun
