Hi I too am looking for a place to paint/ touch up my Petra. I am in Bombay, more specifically the western suburbs. Can anyone suggest some place where I can get the job done? It would be an added advantage if the place was in the Western suburbs.

I tried Shaman in Sewree, and they quoted Rs 3.5k for one front door.
I thought this may be a little on the higher side, considering I have to get similar jobs done on another door and both the front fenders.

For a scratch, look at good local mechanics, again some After sale service folks for Maruti are reasonable.

it is a common practice among A.S.S shops to borrow painters from private body shops to do the painting. (outsourcing/sub-contracting)

The painting job can be done at a COMPETENT car shop.I stress the point competent because if the work done is an odd job you have to spend the same amount of money again to rectify it.So search a good guy before deciding or else A.S.S is better.

If there are only scratches then some local reliable painter would do but if dents need to removed then A.S.S is viable option since matching is of concern and if the car is metallic.

Go for local garage with good credible background. *** have huge margins on the repairs and this is where they make majority of their revenue. As I said, please check and take references before going to a local garage.

Someone has scratched my car with a key or other sharp object...and they are bad, impacted atleast 5 pieces of the car...not sure what to do..its a 11 year old Black Esteem...

someone tells me that a single coat of paint would be good enough to fix it...any advice ?

@Shashank: The thumb rule is, if the scratch is deep enough that you can feel it, you will need to paint it to conceal it. By 5 "pieces" of the car I assume you are referring to 5 panels that will require painting.
By painting, I mean the whole process- i.e denting (smoothening the affected surface) and then painting the panel.

If the scratch is really bad and it bothers you, get it fixed. And since the car is 11 years old anyway, why not give it a full paintjob?

Fast cars is good, but they use ICI paint as per my info.

ICI paint fades out within 1.5 yrs.

20 K at A.S.S is much better and less tension.

Pls go ahead at the Hyundai A.S.S.

It might be a bit pricier but the kind of quality work that'll go on your car would be world a lot different.

Approx., the price may get jacked up a bit by around 7000/- coz of other fittings.

I too have a set of Tinkers and Painters, let me know if you are interested.

Recently i left my new i10 for the first service @ Hyundai dealership service.

I had some scratches in the right side of the rear bumper and right side front bumper. So i asked them the quote for fixing it and without any hesitation they quoted 6K + Taxes for doing this. I was shell shocked and planned to do it outside later on.

Any good painting and denting shops in Chennai? I am planning to do it outside soon. Please help.
