Yes, I am using Patronas Urania Supremo in my safari along with OWS220 engine protector. I felt marginal difference in the engine vibration and noise. Go ahead with the plan :thumbs up. |
Thanks. What exactly is "OWS220 engine protector" is it some kind of oil additive like bardhal. Is it easily available in the market?
What if i just have the petronas urania.

@Dadu, there could be any replacement? I mean can I ask them to replace something under warranty?
@King, thank you for the information. |
You can ask them to check as per kingshuk and do not replace anything unless broken :)
Alrite. I had shooted an email to Tata Motors on the email IDs Rahul Bro gave me. And they responed in 15 minutes, asked me to wait for sometime. I noticed in that email, the person who replied, has forwarded the email to 5 more people. I just hope I gets a resolution in time.

@rahul76, Your earlier pictures do look like diesel spillage marks burnt over time, but its nothing to worry about, there's a lot of heat under the hood and with time the grime builds up. |
Heres the latest pic of the area, after thorough cleaning. Hoping that its nothing more now to worry about.
and a negative of the same :D I am amazed... it gives lots of further infomration. Dirts are easily identifiable when you look at both the pics carefully and match the pattern in negative. ofcourse its how i interpreted it..

Ah no Dadu...not freak It was just because, wanted to take no chances of oil leakage from there as per instructions from TASS and guys back at RC. Those pics above were b,coz of just playing with irfanview and came across negative option :D

Yes, it is like bardhal. I dont know about the availability at your place. In bangalore it is not easily available, only one dealer in bangalore. But you can order it from the site
http://www.speedworksindia.com/ .
I dont think there would be any issue in using patronas without the OWS, c'mon most of the safaris are running on Castrol GTX alone mate. lol:
The engine problem is back big time, did about 1k km after my previous TASC visit (see previous posts). Just today when I started the truck, the rpm was needle was vibrating at about 500 only :Shockked:, the engine was shaking like crazy ( i mean really crazy) and making quite a racket. service light was remaning on. Attempted two starts but the same issue. had a quick look at the turbo hoses, no anomalies, but i had to shut down the engine fast, the vibes really had me worried that the mount may be damaged if I kept it running. :deadhorse
I want to get TML in the loop now, the customer care e-mail ID hasn't responded. any help will be appretiated!!!

My experience- they respond in a day or two. How long did you send it? If you have used harsher tone than usual, then poor lady handling customer mails may be short of wits to figure out whom to forward- means more delay :).

Engine not revving up could mean suffocation or bad fuel to burn. Hope your diesel is not adulterated and your filter is clean?

I refuel only at Shell or PSU Company Owned & Operated pumps. Also the fuel filter was replaced about 10k km ago so I can rule it out!
Hi All,
My beast has completed around 7700 kms and gone through first and second service. But Engine Oil has not been changed in both the Services and as per SA of TASS there is no need for engine oil change and Engine Oil change will be done at 15,000 kms.
But today when i was going through Service Manual, it was recommending Oil change at every Service.
I am totally confused. Please suggest me Gurus, whether SA was wrong or TML. Should i go for voluntary Service now and change engine oil?
Regards,
SHubhendra Singh
Dear Shubhendra,
in your owners manual you will be having a matrix showing the intervals at which what needs to be carried out as a preventive maintenance procedure, have a look at it you will get your answer, don't listen to the SA or anyone for that matter. Oil change at every service will not be written in the manual, most probably the kilometres will be mentioned.

Then why not Bardhal itself, Bardahl Engine Tune-up & Flush, recommended by TATA and available at every T.A.S.S. :)

Engine oil change is at every 15k or 1 year, whichever comes earlier, dont worry.
Has anyone faced hard clutch in your safari?
The clutch is smooth in cold start but after around 30min drive, the clutch becoming hard, ride is rough, gear shift is hard and I can feel some vibration (some grinding kind of) on the gear lever and the pedals.
Till now TASS has replaced the following,
1. Clutch
2. Pressure plate
3. Slave cylinder
4. Some tube (don't know exactly what it is )
But the problem remains, and TASS has no clue. Please let me know if anyone knows the reason.
The car is in bangalore now and TASS is Concorde Motors in hosur road after bommanahalli.

Any smoke? Difference in engine oil level? Bad fly wheel?
