@racerdabba

After installing the turbo, have you changed the Stock ECU ?
what is installed now ?
Brakes have been upgraded ?

I've read the Aluminum radiators can be used for better cooling.
I'm not an expert

waiting for the pics ?

hey buddy, if your using the oil cooler from the Japanese market car than you will have to use something different, as the climate in our country is from there. so use a bigger oil cooler and place it near the indicator in the bumper with a slot on it, it should have constant air flow at speeds of around 30-40 kmph that will tend to keep the oil at a lower temperature from start, and see that there is no obstruction behind the oil coller and the air can move thru the fins and get out of the bay easily. This should help in keeping the temperature at around 5-10 degree lower than now.
I hope this helps, also you have not mentioned anything about the engine cooling system upgrads.

The ECU is stock.
Brakes have been upgraded.

cannot find a suitable vendor for rear discs, so they are stock.

Regarding the pics, you will have to wait for the time being.
I am a student, studying in chennai, whereas the car is in my hometown Bokaro. cant get any pics before i get there.
Sorry, do bear with me

Thats a nice mod, you have tried out there, but are you sure the speed is 170..it may be 150 too.. please bear in mind that speedos have error and once past the prime for which it is designed, it just surges forward.

As you are a student in Chennai, a visit to pudupet here will give you an insight on the speedos going bersek.

And welcome to any C-tbhp meet that we have, our "Nitrous Anna" will be too happy to give you an intro to all of us.

Do you have a oil temperature meter on the car?

I used a IHI turbocharger. that was brought from australia by a Aussie merc service engineer friend there. he also bought a moded HKS by his friends at some company called turbotech down there. But that had very funny effect on engine and rpm.
While IHI was kinda bolt on to f8b. with HKS we had lot of trouble. We did lot of experiment the whole 1 and half years while he was staying in my house. He was retired 70yrs old and me unmarried then.

sometime during diwali that year i was nearly killed in an accident with an innova with overcharged 800. Then we decided quits and made it plain jane 800. after that I got married and his visa expired.
Well i decided to continue the project this year, but other things came up. So its still on hold. and the TC never came back.

I am rebuilding the engine this week, as its crossed the 2 lac kms. It was fried at 46k.
It is a plain buildup so i never bothered to post the images. Who will be interested in plane jane buildup.

Dude! who did your job. I would really like to clear some points with the mechanic. As fitting it in 800 was not easy. Imagine it was just a carb. So carb tuning was piece of cake.

I feel fitting it in an Alto is lot of job. As remapping an Alto ecu is not easy. I have not seen Suzuki releasing the data like others. Hence I feel your mechanic must be very expert.

hey!!
i am just back from my puja holidays dude.
my home is a good 1700 kms from here.
no chances of getting back in diwali!!
U gotta wait!! :-)

The job was almost a bolt on,& ECU is stock.
The ECU details are to be taken from a remap specialist in japan.
he said he has it from an alto Rs X remap.
piece of cake!:-)
Even the turbo is from the Rs x.

Hey Headers,
You maybe right about the speedo. didnt think about it.
Whatever, i am too satisfied with my ride. :-D
Do give me info about your upcoming C t-bhp meet.
would love to be there!

Fried!!?
At 46k??
I hope not because of the TC!
I cannot tolerate my engine frying, though i have a feeling it can.
Maybe i should remove it altogether!
The increased Comp.ratio has given it quite decent performance.
Can u suggest any engine swaps?
I plan to modify this car big time.:-D

i've been contemplating this for a long time, so just a few questions!

which turbo are you running ? the IHI RBH 31 or some other turbo ?
what size tyre/wheel combo are you running?
is you clutch still the stock one ?
Do you run an intercooler ? which one ? and where did you mount it ?
Does the F8D ECM work correctly with the twin cam head ?

Thanks for reviving the interest

-Amit

I still doubt that. There cant be needle running around its dial if the car is going faster. I am waiting for the true pics.

Its real hard to believe someone here in India has done so much of a neat job on a 800.

C'mon dude, we are waiting for the pics.

Beleive me dude it was not a neat job. Even i lost the images as it was done long ago. in 2001. But will post when i do it next. But i am eager to learn finer point from this dude

I am amazed. Fitting a F5A head on our new alto block. its next to impossible.

As i said earlier, it is sourced from japan, as a factory fitment of Alto Rs x.
Its not an IHI.
tyre/wheel combo is same as original, 145/70 R12
Clutch is stock, but wont last long. on its last legs
intercooler shipped with turbo. Had mounting points welded. No probs in fitting it.
The Ecm works fine. The engine runs a wee bit lean, i'll rectify it asap.
