sorry guys i was mistaken it wasnt the ecm but it is called the "PCM" which i had to replace . it did cost me a bomb . the damages are 35k with labour taxes discount of 5% and an warranty of 6 months for the part . i got the work done from shakti ford .
the only sad part is that they have removed my auto cop and rpm meter wiring because all over wiring is checked . they say if they are connected back the warranty of the part would not be valid anymore .
the car is still jerking sometimes i have to go back to them and show it

why not the stand alone management system , that everyone was suggesting ?
Do you try to repair the ECM or PCM ( whatever Ford calls it ?) ?

I THINK what hes trying to say is that he had a new EMU/ECM/PCM whatever fixed by Ford, and that they removed the RPM Meter and Autocop wiring saying that fixing those two will void the warranty...apparantly they offered him a 6 month warranty on the unit (for 40k plus they should offer at least a year's warranty!!!)

On my Hyundai, fitting headlamps of a higher wattage would void the warranty. Hence not overly surprised by the conditions. Basically any 'add-on' electricals will void a warranty as the manufacturer does not warrant that his unit will work with anything other than what he has supplied as OE.

Hehe, that way my car warranty would have gone (probably has) to the dogs on day 1 itself.
