Help: Problematic Ford Ikon

guys i have a very very serious problem with my ford ikon 1.6 . the problem is that when i give it a self the car starts up but after 2-4 seconds the car turns off even after hard acceleration . i had called up a couple of mechanic s and nobody could just rectify the problem . they checked everything right from all electric stuff to mechanical stuff they even checked the fuel pump many a time s . both the mechanic said that there could be a problem of the ecm box and one of them has taken the ecm box to be checked upon . the mechanic said that if that is a problem it cannot be repaired and has to be replaced with is quite expensive help

my guess is its the fuel pump. go to the authorised dealer, ask him to put a diferent fuel pump and check. i think that should do.

Apart from the fuel pump...also check the injectors...they maybe clogged and check the fuel filter.

take it to a ford authorised service center instead if relying on zillions of door step mechs and if its ecm and under warranty u will get a free replacement..

oops i read it wrong.. lol...

either ways get it checked by authorised guys (worth it), i wouldnt risk my cars with local guys.. it can be as simple as a failed ignition coil or coil wire also.. the ecm cars are funny when it comes to trouble shooting..

Some more info?

Hey bhp when your car shuts down, do the revs climb up on their own always? If thats the case it could mean the timing belt or timing mechanicals are faulty.
