5K, service intervals at 15K now, and thats what is my oil change interval too. Recently inspected the oil(12K done), and its holding along pretty fine.
did some confirmations from insiders in Tata, and they told me that on their test engines(run at varying rpm and heat conditions), the oil lasts beyond 30K kms.
So I guess 15K oil interval is safe if thats what the mfr recommends.

Mobil Delvac MX would work just fine.

Ideally don't do this, you will just add up more carbon and dirt inside the engine. Its better to stick to 7 to 10k km oil change for diesel engines which has a combination cycle of city and highways. Anything beyond this is pushing it.

Please note that only a proper oil analysis will tell you if the oil properties are intact, so don't go by the looks or by the feel of the engine oil to test it. Its just a wild indicator.

Hyundai has recommended 10K for the i20 CRDI.

Ok, but the manual says 15K. I really don't want to fiddle with what the manual says. thats why 15K intervals. If the manual had said 50K between oil change intervals, I would have stuck to what the manual says.
With a tata car its best to go by the book, and do everything the manual says :)

Hi RBP,

If you come on J.C.Rod the multi -level car park is on the right. There is a lane opposite the multi-level car park. The shop is on the left as you enter from J.C.Road,

Very reliable guy. You should get it there. Sorry can't help you with the price.

PM me and I shall send the phone nos. of the owners.

Cheers

MOBIL DELVAC MX (API CI) - this Engine oil suits Diesel well - my experience.

is it synthetic or mineral??

Its a mineral oil, specially recommended for high mileage and for engines with EGR.

A note of caution, while the Delvac MX API-CI is one of the best engine oils out there, its detergent content is high. So if your car has done 90-100,000kms and you have never used a high detergent content oil, there may be trouble with leaky seals

How much is the detergent content in Delo400 ? I have been using it for sometime (changed every 5k) and was thinking of Mobil Delvac MX since the former is no longer available. Any prob with that ?

Its a medium detergent content oil. You can safely move to delvac MX.
However why not use Mobil Super 1000. Its API-CH4 and a very good oil for protecting modern engines. Its readily available too.
Delvac MX is more suited if you are experimenting with long drain intervals(for example 15000kms between oil changes).

I hope I am not sounding irrational but considering a TATA Indica V2 DLS run ( Could not find :Frustrati much Experience pertaining to Indica NA) 38000 Kms in 5 Yrs which Oil would be more suitable please::

Delvac 1 or Delvac MX

This Car is been religiously running on TASS Engine Oil ( That’s should be Castrol GTX [Correct me if I am wrong ]) with Oil change every 7.5K Kms against company recommended 10K Kms. I maintain the drive RPM between 2500RPM to 3200 RPM and rarely shooting up to 4000 RPM once in a blue moon.

Mobil TM 1000 API-CH4 will be fine. When you go to TASS, ask them to out the oil which they put in safari 2.2 in your car. Simple.
As of what they are using, its Castrol GTD. Castrol GTX diesel is actually one of the best oils in the market, and very difficult to find due to low demand(taxi market prefers cheaper oils)
