Re: Toyota Corolla/Corolla Altis

Toyota absolutely rips off when it comes to bulbs - asking for 11k for D4R bulb. Can anyone share inputs on who can ship /courier / sell a pair in bangalore?

On a side note, what is the best place to find a replacement bulb in New Delhi? The dealership quotes me 8.5k for one bulb!

Correction: The HB3 Bulb I mentioned was the High Beam bulb. The D4R is the correct low beam bulb and I got it at about 3k from a Philips authorized reseller instead of 10k that the dealership was asking. Just look for authorized resellers of Philips on the website and call them up to check availability.

I bought my D4R from Parnamai Enterprises in Gurgaon. The owner is pretty awesome - he agreed to change the bulb without hassle since I first bought the wrong model.

Of course, the philips distributor won't install the bulb. In my case, the galaxy toyota folks in Okhla sent back my driver when I sent him to install the bulb that I bought outside despite it being the exact same make and model that the dealership supplied . So I got it fitted at a local mechanic who took 1 hr but did the job finally!

Re: Stock bulb types of indian cars.

Reviving an old thread. What is the bulb set up in headlight of Altis? Are there 2 separate bulbs for low beam and high beam or a single one? I just got my car repaired and the front right side headlight had to be replaced. The dealership has charged me for 2 bulbs amounting to Rs 1.1k each and the insurance company is hell bent on counting it as consumable and hence I need to pay for them.

As I've written above, its D4R for low beam and HB3 for high beam. Which one shows on your invoice? The D4R costs 10k+ at the dealership so it cant be that. My altis came with spare HB3's so I wonder if they restocked your spares? Perhaps you had a missing spare so they charged you for two? In either case they have to consult with you before charging you!

EDIT: Typical insurance doesn't pay for electronics.

PS: A good way to find the new bulb is to compare the brightness in a dark place.
Above is for petrol corolla altis highest spec at time of launch.

They have charged me for two bulbs, both costing Rs 1100. The d4r that you have mentioned must be the HID ones. Mine is the mid variant.

As far as I know the HB3 9005 is the hi beam bulb while the HB4 9006 is for the low beam.

Both are single filament bulbs and retail at approx Rs.300 each for the Philips make.

Can anyone help me to replace my Scorpio (mHawk 2009 model) brake light bulb? What is the bulb type? Appreciate if you can specify the bulb type for brake lights and reverse light too. Thanks

Hyundai Santa Fe III (DM) bulb specifications

Assuming 2014 variants means the third generation Hyundai Santa Fe (DM), I am attaching a snippet from the owner's manual for the car. All the bulb types are specified in it, you could reconfirm with your owner's manual too

Stock bulb types of indian cars.-hyundai-sante-fe-iii-dm-bulb-specifications.jpg

Source. To check, I randomly compared some of the bulb applications using a Osram vehicle bulb finder tool and it seems to be correct.

Cheers,
Avinash
