I think the best I have heard is when a mech told me " Sir, bubbling ho raha hai". He actually meant "Wobbling".
The best place to know at times is the place where taxis are repaired. Guys here are absolutely hands on. Ones I can remember-

Dear Behram Ji Chidiya means spider aqnd gattha means diffrential unit
i dunno if this counts or not. I saw one of lady reporter in the channel we know very well. 'Char paiya wali gadi' while referring to 4 wheel drive vehcile. :)

Chidiya are the rocker arms and gattha is the differential

During my childhood days,whenever I go to the cycle shop to refill air,the shop keeper used to ask me "Show me the 'wall tube'",first I used to wonder what is that,only later I realized that he meant the 'Valve Tube'..
So, wall tube = valve tube..:p

I remember once, while waiting at our tinker with a friend , we overheard a mech order spares for an amby's crown that he had just dismantled. He was like "get two of this, one of this" etc. lol:
Hasn't anybody heard "sockab"? It means the damper / shock absorber :)
Or how "gaadi" is used for everything from a car to a motorbike to a cycle.
And the weirdest (but most common) request that service advisors hear (seen first hand) : "Please increase my fuel efficiency and power, BOTH!"
The one i remember. My dad's motorcycle mechanic. He couldn't for the life of him pronounce carburetor even after my dad tried to help him but in vain.
He used to call it kabottar.
The leaf is commonly known as katta. Katta in the local lingo means wood. Further, katta in the local slang personifies a beautiful lady.:)
