Hey, great set of pics Rehaan & Ported! I've never seen such detailed pics of an F1 car.

Great work and thanks for sharing the awesomeness!

Here are some detailed specs that were provided on the "mix and match" Show car :

I'm not sure how up-to-date or correct these are. (eg: AP calipers listed, but the car had brembos on).

Rehaan, this was absolutely awesome stuff. And it's a relief to know there will be screens at Bandra Rec for us to watch.

PS- Any chance of meeting DC?

Thanks for the specs, a 90-degree V10, no wonder it sits so low, can't imagine then how much lower the 110-degree Renault engines would've been

So the show car is the STR1 Toro-Rosso car ! The STR1 was basically a re-badged RB1 & was allowed to run with the 2005 Cosworth V10 despite the 2006 regulations (which called for V8s). The 3 liter Cosworth V10s were severely limited to offset the performance advantage over the 2.4 liter V8s (I guess that is why the rev-limit is so low on this engine). Who can forget the back & forth "RPM game" that was played out between Toro-Rosso & the FIA that year ?

Cargirl, i'm not sure where you got that impression from? (The on board video will be recorded and handed out later - not sure if it will also be telecast live).
I do not know if there are screens for the viewers, but i would assume so - will check. Though personally, i am going moreso to hear it than see it.

Excellent report and very nice detailed pictures! I have never seen an F1 car so closely in pictures...you're really lucky to have seen it in real!
btw does anyone have an idea if we need an invitation for the Engine Fire Up of the Red Bull Racing Car at the Paddock near BWSL toll gate on Saturday? or is it open to general public?

Ok, my bad! :-) It would make sense to telecast it live. But I know what you mean when you say you're going more so to hear it.

Yes, there will be a presscon later.

FYI, the PR guys were completely vague about the how and when and where and everything else about the event. They didn't even know much about where the media paddock would be located.

And it seems the DC will give an interview only to who else but TOI... but does BHP stand a chance of a face-to-face with him?

Quite shocking! Both.
The corrosion probably because this car is not in use ...but then I thought the hubs were titanium!

Actually these things get shipped around the world all the time so they lightweight everything to save on air freight. Titanium tools and jacks are the norm. Lately CF too.
