Nokia priority quoted me Rs.1100 for an original charger for E71 model. Are you sure you got the original charger?

Just to add some info for people who are using mobile and laptop in car, there's a Laptop charger available on Ebay.in which was shipped to me approx Rs.550/- works great with my compaq laptop.

Best thing about this was you don't need to carry the A.C. Laptop charger like you would do when u use car inverter.
This Laptop charger also comes with 8 Pins to fit most laptop.

I am using it since 2 week and its working great, only thing is your car must be running before it can charge a Laptop.

+1 to this, need info on this, please share the link.

Also, ASCs are trusted for the brand they offer, else need to know a reliable shop, as I see majority of the shops are selling chinese stuff without any warranty.

What's the effect of the laptop charger on battery life, it will drain it right if used regularly ?

which battery life ? Car ?

As long as car is running, there should be no problem, if the car ignition is switched off, then I guess there are some options like
1. Not to allow it to work
2. Allow it to work for some time before it is disconnected
3. Allow it to work till car battery is nearing drainage.

If its your concern about laptop, i don't think if proper voltage is provided it would inversely affect its life.

Not allowing it to work is best option when car is not running as you'll see laptop giving warning "charger connected" then "charger removed"
seems the charger needs high amps to make it.

Loose inverter connection

I know its been a long time since I had started this thread, my apologies in continuing the discussion now. But the thing is, its only today I could get an inverter. Its like the one Wildon mentioned about in the previous page(the one from MX electronics).

I have an issue and would like to know if any of you have faced it - The connection between the inverter and the socket doesn't seem to inspire confidence. Even though I haven't driven the car with the inverter attached, it looks like it could fall off at the slightest bump.

Any ideas on what could be done to solve this would be great. Will any DIY to fix it work? Like wrapping the insulation tape on the sides for a snug fit.
