Did a small DIY and wrapped some insulation tape to increase the thickness. It fits perfectly now. Will post pics as soon as I get some time. Sorry for this late update, had been traveling the whole of last week.

Need to remove cigarette lighter from Hyundai Verna 2006

Hi Guys,
I have a Hyundai Verna 2006 (non-Fluidic and non-Transform) 1st gen CRDi.

The stock cigarette lighter receptacle that came in with the car is too narrow for my USB car charger to fit in. Aftermarket lighter sockets retail for about 200 bucks and I need to know how do DIY replace the lighter socket assembly.

One Car Accessories guy I went to told me that there will be wire cutting involved and that might mess with the car's electronics and he is not ready to take any responsibility for that. Hyundai is charging about 1200 bucks for the lighter + labor

Can someone please help?

Cheers!
