Re: Car is good but cash is mine (Ford Figo)

My comparison of the stock figo (SF) and the race chipped figo (RCF)
Gear in the RCF is like this
Gear Purpose
1 Just to shake the car from standstill
2 To get the car rolling
3 My auto box
4 For those small races in town
5 Overdrive and overtake

Gears in the SF needed constant change. I loved the gearshifts of the Figo so did not mind that then. Its only when I got used to lesser shift that I found out the difference.

The stock figo is nice to drive at 80kmph but at 100kmph the engine is strained and when you slow down you have to go to a lower gear and then build up again. In the RCF 100kmph is relaced affair I can slow down to 80kmph and then still make it back to 100kmph in no time. It is excellent for those gear shift wary people.

It is amazing the way RCF pulls from 20kmph to 70kmph in 3rd gear in 10secs.

I am loving the torque and the power increase in their own ways. I am more happier that the figo suspension can handle the speeds.

How is the Smoke level after the Race Chip. I guess the Stock Engine does not smoke however hard you accelerate.

No smoke noticed after the race chip mod....

You are right stock engine does not smoke... it still continues to be that way even after the mod.... I checked this while following the figo in our Linea...

BTW Our Linea smokes when pushed really hard.. but then on our Linea we that is the silliest we would have had,.....

60K kms UPDATE!! Car is good but cash is mine (Ford Figo)

Gave the figo for the 60K kms service..

It cost me 6200 INR. I think that is ok considering that they changed all the filters (Oil, air, fuel) and oil. Got the alignment done too.

The figo has become smooth again after the service. I have noticed that by the time the car has done 9000 kms the car becomes somewhat rough.

Like always love riding the FIGO!!!! Let more miles come.....

Rs 6200? I am overdue for the same for around 2000 Kms. The catch is that i am in a place where the nearest Ford showrrom is 90 Kms away and i aint getting time to drop it in there.

When i enquired with Sarvesh Ford at Vellore, they said it would cost somewhere close to 5K. I aint quite sure as to what were they intending to 'pass a shut eye to' for reducing that extra Rs 1200

Anyways, great going. Wish you happy miles

There is this glow plug that I have replaced. This is normally not replaced at 60K kms but I replaced it.

This cost around 1000 rupees. May be that is the difference.
