Congrats Dheeraj, your description of the car and your happiness seems to have changed my opinion towards Fluence. I must admit I got carried away looking at the bashings. Please post some pics when you can

Re: Driving under inFLUENCE - The stunning new Renault Fluence

Congratulations Dheeraj!

Fluence is surely a stunner in most departments. I know a few cases where people TDed Fluence, were completely floored and then went on to buy a Laura or Cruze, just coz of the unknown(unknown in India) brand image of Renault. which is not so logical IMO.

BTW, I don't know whether I missed it or its not there, did buy the diesel or the petrol? Renault Fluence is probably the only strange case in India where the diesel is cheaper than petrol and only base model of diesel and only top-end of petrol. Can't understand Renault's market strategy. But, since you are a geeky fellow, my guess is its petrol.

Moderators, please warn Dheeraj that this thread will not be accepted without detailed photographs.

Re: Driving under inFLUENCE - The stunning new Renault Fluence

Congratulations Dheeraj.
A picture speaks a thousand words but writing a thousand words does not mean you are off the hook. We still need the pics.

When it comes to cars in India, the Fluence has some radical design concepts. I have seen the audio controls behind the steering wheel in the Dodge Challenger that I had rented abroad. I came to know of those controls when I gripped the inside of the steering wheel and my fingers touched the rocker buttons in the back. It may actually be a good thing. Less clutter on the face of the steering.

Drive Safe and enjoy your new ride.

It's a Petrol. Though he talks about Turbo lag(probably a diesel TD Car).
He also mentioned that he bought a AT version that gives 7kmpl.
Which makes it easy to infer that it's a petrol

Yaa...7 KMPL was a easy give away. My bad, i missed it. Just because their diesel model is cheaper than petrol model, it doesnt mean it should be less fuel efficient.

Re: Driving under inFLUENCE - The stunning new Renault Fluence

Congrats Dheeraj on the fluence. Sure looks good. The interiors also seem a nice place to be! What I really liked, was the speedo console. Awesome!

How is the dealer network in Kol? And what were you doing in a Mitsubishi workshop?

Anyways, wishing you a trouble free ownership and please do post some nice exterior shots in the outdoors.

Re: Driving under inFLUENCE - The stunning new Renault Fluence

congratulations..

Somehow I also felt the same thing. The review pictures on this forum somehow did not do justice to the car. I saw one in South Kolkata around last week and it really had great road presence. Looked totally different from the rest of the crowd.

I really hope they(Renault) do well. Their doing well will mean we get the duster sooner.

Thanks! The speedo console is truly awesome! Thats what makes the experience of being behind the wheel such a pleasure. It also really gives it a sporty look along with luxurious ambience.

Only one dealer in Kolkata right now. They also deal in Mitsubishi, HM and Hyundai. The workshop is shared between Mitsubishi and Renault. They are renovating a seperate section for each though.
