I think the sales rep meant the petrol version. There is no automatic on the diesel i20. But thats a market worth exploring for Hyundai. I see a lot of potential in it.
there used to be automatic transmission for the Verna diesel .. right ! So how difficult could it be to put the same transmission into the i20 diesel, which would make lesser torque than the Verna for sure.

He was referring to petrol variant. The sportz 1.4 AT is not a diesel but a petrol variant. :)

Wow ... we sure have some "mahan" sales guys huh, well why dont you ask him to put this on mail and send it. I am sure he will back out and say he cant do so.
There is no CRDi automatic for I20 for sure.
Need some advice.
My i gen i20 petrol has just completed 6200 kms in approx 4 months & i'am in a dilemma whether to change the engine oil before the second service due at 10,000 km.
The manual states first oil change during second service at 6 months or 10,000 km ( whichever earlier), but also recommends oil change at 5000km if the car has been driven in harsh conditions ie frequent idling, stop start driving, driving when outside temp is always above 32 C. etc
People familiar with Delhi traffic would agree that the above conditions are applicable in this case.
please advise me whether i should wait till second service due in Jan or is it better to get the oil change before since i'l be making a 1000 km return trip to my hometown jhansi during diwali.

I am seeing a mileage between 12-13kmpl on my i20 CRDI (which has done around 2200 kms). This is entirely in city with a/c on 100% of the time. First service is already done.
Is this the kind of mileage expected from i20 CRDI initially? Or maybe I need to change my driving style?
Thanks,
Kiran |
I always get upwards of 16 kmpl in my i20 igen crdi. the worst I had was also above 15 kmpl. These are figures for 100% city and 99% AC. maybe you should go a little more gentle on the throttle.

Thanks Nettooran. That sounds promising. My driving style has been a little spirited so far. As you suggested, I will try going easy on the throttle and see what mileage figures I would get.
Regards,
Kiran

I agree. Its not simple to go easy on the throttle in the i20 CRDi. My car has done 5K kms in 3 months, and has been giving me a mileage of 13 - 13.5. with spirited driving. 100% in City with AC turned on at equal amount.
Speculations on the new i20 with DRL's are all true. Spotted 2 new i20's without plates both sporting these new led treatment on the fogs. Looked bling and cheap if you ask me!

Personally, did not find it to be cheap. However I felt it was overdone. should not have been this big. The lights were too bright even in good daylight.

Isn't that the idea behind DRLs? I thought they were meant primarily for highway use to let oncoming traffic know yours isn't a parked car.
New i20's with DRL's are already out on road, spotted one this sunday.
Looked like cheap aftermarket LED light.
