Re: A Toyota Fortuner 5-Speed AT comes home!

Hi Dieselite,

I have been contemplating about buying a Fortuner AT for sometime now and i came across your thread. I feel I have almost the similar requirements as yours.

I wish to buy a sturdy SUV with no worries about the maintenance. It should have an automatic transmission to handle the Delhi traffic. The car will be mostly run in the city. The 520d will be mostly used for those outstation highway trips. I don't think fortuner has any solid competitor in the segment.

Now I was only apprehensive about the fact that there is no 4x4 automatic (also the oh-so-average interiors but I can still live with that). However, there have been certain reports from autocar that Toyota plans to launch that by the end of this year. However, no official confirmation from Toyota on this. So, since you have been using a 4x2 for quite a while now, would you suggest that I should go on and book a 4x2 now or wait for the 4x4 ? Any help would be much appreciated.
