Yes, sold the Stang in Dec.

With no offence to Dodge or Charger owners, I find the Charger to be a bit dull, especially the looks. Too rounded and curvy for my taste.

Before finalizing the 300S, since I got this car from the dealership, I sat in all the cars - Charger, 300, Challenger and the Grand Cherokee one after the other for a comparison and to be honest, the Dodge duo did not feel special at all.

I am not saying the 300 has a great cabin. Absolutely not. The Impala is miles ahead. But the 300 has a sense of occasion and a charm to it, which the Charger lacks.

Also, one of the main factor was exclusivity. The Charger is way too common in Dubai.

It is impossible for the Americans to build anything small. The word "small" does not figure in their dictionary. Be it their cars, trucks or even burgers. They are all very inefficient but they all have a charm and character that is not seen in any other part of the world. It is almost a signature to that country. This is what we are known for.

If you've watched the 2007 Transformers film, as an automobile enthusiast, you will recall a few seconds of that movie for only one thing. The noise that a black Ford Mustang cop car makes while tying to drive over Shia LaBeouf under a bridge. It lasts for only a few seconds. The noise of the engine is captured with such accuracy that its almost like the real thing in front of you. This scene literally woke me up for noise that car made. It was epic. Has to be heard with the volume cranked to 11.

This sort of a car is a dying breed. With all the environment regulations coming in to place and everything moving towards being efficient and economical. While that is all good, everyone must experience (If not own) a car like this at some point in their life and before we all end up driving cars that sound like a vacuum cleaner.

Yes, when I sat in the display car (it was a 300C), I saw this switch which is on the driver's seat next to the electric seat controls. I fiddled with it and I could hear a faint noise from the motor moving something, but I was expecting something to move in the seat and could never figure out what it was for. Had to read the manual to find out!

Agree to that. Infact I am sure, they will still be safer than the outdated 300 even with less safer features. But the base & mid variants of the German trio is ridiculously low on equipment, some even omitting features like blind spot and front sensors. Their touch screens are outdated 5" units and the whole interior in general looks sparse and you do get the feeling that you are in a stripped down variant.

Completely agree with your observations here. Used to drive my cousins Charger while in Dubai and it was fun though a little too common. A good friend and prominent auto journalist in ME drives the SRT version of the 300 and he loves it.

By the way, I could not find a reason for complaining the leg room when the car is such a beast.

Please find the pic of the rear seat legroom. The driver's seat is set to my position, which is all the way back. I can surely take the seat a bit ahead to accommodate passengers in the back seat, but in such a huge car, the legroom should not be an issue IMHO.

The front passenger seat is in a normal position.

Congratulations on your purchase! The Chrysler 300 is a "Gansta" car for sure. I fell in love with the current model while watching Breaking Bad when the show came out and black is THE color for this car. When I was car shopping a couple of years ago I considered both 300S and the Charger SRT. The only reason I decided on the Charger was because of the 6.4 liter engine. Chrysler doesn't sell the 300 SRT version in US. Just curious- Do they sell it in Dubai? If yes, didn't you check it out?

I regularly see an older model 300 driven by a lady when I drop my daughter at her school. Its a Hemi powered engine, and the sound it makes it just amazing.

Yes, they do sell the 300 SRT in Dubai and that would have been my dream buy. But none was available for sale, so I settled for the 5.7!

Yes, this engine has a deep growl even with the stock exhaust. The brochure mentions the 300S has a different and louder exhaust.

Many congratulations on this beast. There are quite a few 300s running in Sydney and Melbourne. They do have an imposing appearance.

Maybe its a country thing but the German base models out here come fairly loaded. I have no idea about the pricing in Dubai but in Australia the 3 series base models which are comparatively priced to the 300 SRT come with most of the bells and whistles including even the head up display. Perhaps the Germans are still thinking premium pricing in Dubai whereas here they have to compete hard with Lexus, Infinity and the Jags.
