@Vignesh... Nice rims and choice of rubber. The car is looking really nice.
Vignesh, congrats on your new purchase. Nice alloys. How much did you pay for exchange of your OEM tyres and cost of alloys? Did you get a set of 4 or 5?

Your right, it is much safer to use the regular diesel over premium ones for the common rail diesel engines for several reasons posted here on this forum.
I use always the regular diesel:) |
Can someone post the link of the thread where this is being discussed
@Vignesh : can you post the picture of wheel also. bigger the better.
Toyota recomands regular fuel thats right. I checked with them as well. However we can use premium Petrol for Petrol engine.
For Diesel Engine regular fuel is always better. For some reason Shell Diesel don't give better mailage.
Even for my Petrol Innova when I switched over from Shell to BP speed my FE improved by .8 in first fill itself. Now its 5th full tank with BP speed same bunk FE is consistent with 8.2kmpl.
CRDi engines are sensitive to bad fuel. So one should fill the fuel in reputed bunk for sure.
Regards,
Ravi.
@mobik
i paid about 30 in total for a set of 4 alloys and 4 tyres. The stock tyres and rims hardly went for 1 grand per set

Hi Guys,
Done 3000 KMS on my Swift DDSi.
The performance so far has been unmatched. The very little vibration that existed on the steering and the DI krrr sound when you accelerate hard has come down drastically. I often fail to realise that the engine is running...
The mileage is stable, 17+ in city, 20+ on highway all with A/C on normal fuel. For first service I was charged 800 bucks (for oil), other charges were borne by the company. The next one is at 10k.
The highway performance is awesome, overtaking has never been so easy, I just have to touch the accelerator to zoom from 100 - 130. I win most of the highway races :-) The max speed I touched so far is 130, I think when I m on highway next time I will see the max speed. Inside the city its so calm and quiet...I never even switch off the engine or the AC even if I have to stand for 200 secs in the signal.
Other than that, driving my car in Bangalore without bruises seems to be impossible. One Indicab guy hit my right front door and fender when he took a fast u turn from his lane to my lane. I think his A-piller obstructed the view of my car. But then the dent caused by the accident was very vivid so I did a insurance claim and fixed it. The fender was replaced and the door was repaired as the damage was mostly on the fender. The bill was 8.5k, 8k was paid by insurance company and I paid 500 bucks.
Last week I was trying to overtake a lorry on a narrow road and he started slowly moving towards right and his foot step cut a line on my left rear door and fender. Though it is not apparently visible, its still a damage, a line from end of front door till the fender. Not sure if I can do a claim so fast, so I thought of getting it fixed during my next service (probably after 6 months).
On the whole I'm very satisfied !!!

Nice review of the 3K run. Btw, i am suprised to know that they changed the oil in first service ( for CRDI's, it is done during the second one). Sorry to know the dents on the car, i guess we just have to live with this natural phenomena.
Btw, did you stop the car in mid-traffic and click that pic when it reached 3K?:p
Hi vignesh , how much mileage are u getting in your swift d ?? Also do the tyre upsize take a toll on your mileage ???
