Yeah, I have this too, however it is recommended to be used within the city or in hills. On long drives on highways, you need to keep it on to be able to cruise at lower RPMs.
I use it more often on highways too when I need to accelerate faster. In general, I switch it on, only when cruising on the highway and trying to do a fuel run. I use it(switch off) as a turbo button on a need basis and the rest of the time it is always switched on. One thing is for sure is the fuel efficiency is not going to jump beyond 11 which means we save 100kms per 50 litres of fuel. Mathematically I am starting to realize, forget the fuel efficiency and drive it at 100% off.

It looks similar and it is not the same. This one is a 4*2 if i am right and the price quoted will never get a buyer for some time unless someone needs it urgently and are not ready to scout.

Re: My Pre-Owned Ford Endeavour | Ownership Review & Journal

Day out with the Ford. Gorgeous day and a great partner in Crime. Guru with his Pajero. That Pajero needs a thread on its own but till then you will see it in every update I post here.

Another weekend well spent and this is the exact reason i bought the car and I do not regret it one bit.

Second trip after taking over the car.

It looks well maintained at least from the photos.
Try to negotiate on the price.

Re: My Pre-Owned Ford Endeavour | Ownership Review & Journal

This is a wonderful thread. Thank you @VW2010 for the efforts.

I own a Honda City and I wanted to modify my amazing City. It was a pre-owned car which I bought in 2015 and I am using it since 7 years without any trouble at all.

I underwent a Bypass surgery last year and life changed after that. I do travel a lot to Ahmedabad and Mumbai by road and my wife is not comfortable anymore with that and she wants me to upgrade to an SUV. I wanted to check Thar out but came across my favorite SUV.

I couldnt afford an SUV back in those days and now I have this chance to own and enjoy this SUV for few more years.

https://www.olx.in/en-in/item/ford-e...iid-1705559568

I have talked with the owner. A very genuie guy, I have some common friends as well and he is willing to drop the price slightly due to that.

I took it to a workshop owned by my friend and he says that the car is absolutely fit and can be purchased. His concerns are the spareparts and the kilometers the ODO shows though - 220,000. He says numbers are not an issue but if something happens, maintainance can be expensive.

My gut is telling me to go for it.

Any advices please?

Re: My Pre-Owned Ford Endeavour | Ownership Review & Journal

Thank you @VW2010 for the efforts. This is a wonderful thread.

After drooling over the ‘Truck’ for many years especially the older models which had Hurricane/Thunder Branding really made my world rock, finally today, I am planning to get one for myself.

Currently, i have an 2015 Elite i20, 2013 i10 At SR, 2016 Eon and the car i want it to replace is my OG MG413 Gypsy, 2004 which unfortunately is in its last stage of life as certain RTO’s in Himachal are not renewing BS3 vehicles > 20 years (dislike the government’s decision, there are better ways to tackle pollution levels like having strict emission norms etc.). My research on the current availability of parts, ASS brought me down to this thread. I am a hotelier and need a proper 4x4 to conquer the snowy terrains of Narkanda (~7500ft). I am also planning to get married by 2024 eoy, so would require a better vehicle for the whole family (not essentially a 7 seater).

Would Endeavour be a good option (I know its not right to compare a Gypsy with a Endeavour) however in your opinion with regards to service, reliability, availability of spares and the mighty combination of an AT with a 4x4, should it be considered or should I let it pass to the likes of Duster, Fortuner or Santa Fé all of which are available under a budget range of ₹4-7Lakhs ?

PS: Found an advert on Marketplace :
Endeavour 2015, driven 82k in Gurugram asking price ₹5,90,000.

@Viper

You will not have issues with parts or services. The question is do you really need a lorry or to be gentle, a truck? It is extremely comfortable like a bus or lorry. It drinks diesel at will and in general reliable.

Why not a Jimny or used Thar? They may suit your needs better than this truck. This is a good, spacious car for long drives and "broken-back" drivers with some capability of offroading. It is also not a full-time off-roader like a Jimny or Thar.

One thing for sure is you cannot get this combination of size, space, AT, and Diesel at this price. The car also looks fantastic and clean. I wanted a truck and hence I bought this for 90% non-off-road usage .

Re: My Pre-Owned Ford Endeavour | Ownership Review & Journal

Hi,
I am right now groping a 2011 50k done Endeavour 4x2 AT (KA registered, Bangalore) priced at 7.5L (might be negotiable). The owner is Second.
Not seen the beast yet but do you all suggest to go for it (in 2023) ?

I own Duster (manual Diesel, bought last year). I may have to sell out Duster then.

Thanks for getting back, @vw2010. Really appreciate it, especially at this time when buying a car is my top goal for this month.

The reason I'm not considering a Thar or a Jimny is due to budget constraints.

My main goal is to have a vehicle that I can use for about 2-3 years. Right now, my options seem limited, and my longstanding desire to own an Endi still influences my bias.

On the flip side, I also have alternatives like the Duster, Fortuner, or Santa Fé, all of which fall within the budget range of ₹4-7 Lakhs.

I think this 'Truck' is a fantastic choice. It really brings back nostalgic memories of when I was a kid and had a crush on this car.

Would you recommend it over the other options?

12-year-old 4*2 at 7.5 is extremely high. You can probably get a 4*4 for that price(or lesser) if you look around. I would not spend 7.5 on a 4*2 Endy that is 12 years old with only 3 years left before FC.

Considering your other options in the price range, I would recommend buying this only for the crush or nostalgic memories you have of this car. There is no other 4*4 AT that is as spacious and comfortable as this Ford. But your other options in general in the same price range may serve better in my humble opinion.

Absolutely, I completely understand where you're coming from! At the moment, my budget is a tad limited, so I'm planning to look into some alternative choices. I'm truly grateful for the eye-opening words. 🚗💨
