My experiences with Sundaram when buying the Spark was very pleasant and they were thoroughly professional. My first service check-up (1000Kms) is also completed and the only -ve thing is that their A.S.S is only by prior appointment.
Can you please substantiate your assessment of Sundaram . Which part of their service did you find un-professional (pre-booking, post-booking or A.S.S?). I certainly like to know the details.

Its A.s.s in my exp. I have dealt with them for 3 and half years and have now stopped going to them.
From what ever you have listed, you have not started interacting with the sundaram a.s.s at all.

Is UVA going to come out with MJD 1.3 by any chance?

You are beginning to frighten me. Which part of A.S.S is the problem
1. Not addressing your complaints?
2. In-competent service advisers?
3. Non-availability of spares?
4. Service costs?
5. Delayed delivery?
6. Unethical behaviour?
7. Any other?

Do you own an opel or fiat?

If will be of great help if you can provide the details. This will help me to consider alternatives as and when they become available

I have read in this forum that UVA/Aveo will come out with MJD by end of 2007. Sundaram guys have no such info.

The guy will just scribble some thing in that job card and then he will type that out in the computer and the o/p will vaguely resemble what ever you have said. You make sure while he is typing that, that is what you want.

2. In-competent service advisers?Service advisers are mostly useless, some are quite friendly but not all of them. escalate to ramesh, a manager who will be sitting inside the cabin next to the credit card counter.

3. Non-availability of spares?Not an issue..

4. Service costs? Yeah.. to some extent. Last time (30k service) for no obvious reason i got 2.5k for labor alone. No proper explanations on why...

5. Delayed delivery? To some extent. If you go by 5pm, by the time billing is done it will be 6:30pm...

6. Unethical behaviour?No such thing...

7. Any other? After garuda has closed down, the place has become mad. But that is discussed in another thread.

Do you own an opel or fiat? Corsa...

I have read in this forum that UVA/Aveo will come out with MJD by end of 2007. Sundaram guys have no such info.If that happens will be in line to book one inspite of my above feedback...

I too have heard from Pashankar (Pune dealer) that UVA will be coming with a diesel engine. But the sales person was not sure of the exact time frame.

I had a minor problem with my UVA and it took 3 visits (and 4 days ) to Sundaram to fix it. Every time the service advisor will assure that the problem is fixed, but not in reality

Yes, very much. They never keep their words. I waited for hours to get the car, even though I went there after getting a confirmation that the car is ready

Sundaram did the same when they were the sole dealer of Fiat, Good that Fiat gave them the boot!
Now they are the sole GM dealer, so back with their antics!

Hi Arun,

I really agree with you on your review. Though I have a lot of highway driving but I also travel through a stretch which has a lot of gear shifts and the performance is 12kmpl ( 100% AC ) whereas on a highway its around 14 kmpl ( 100% AC ).

I took a suggestion from the posts from dj99 - Dhananjay and tried to switch on the AC after 60 kmph and it really works , the sluggishness is much lower.

Gear shifts was always like that for our Chevy ........... but the space kill all the cons of the car. I a beauty to drive.

Cheers
Soumya

Hi Arun, how is the car doing now? Hope Sundaram has become better.
Just curious - do you face any problem with the driver side seat belt making a clicking noise when you fit it and drive - its annoying for me.
