Silver Getz Prime CRDi VGT

Got my bright silver Getz Prime CRDi 1.5L delivered on 30 may .

What made me to buy Getz CRDi?
I always liked Getz for its looks and practicality. It has lots of space, looks good, rides better than some of the hatches, handles well and is good for city as well as highways.

While buying a chevy spark, left out Getz 1.3 as it looked over priced for me. Also the mileage was lesser IMO. After i bought spark, next month the beast Getz CRDi was launched with the powerful and amazing Verna engine. Now i am proud owner of this beast.

I booked the car with Trident Hyundai on 1st may 2008. Sales executive promised me to deliver it in 4 weeks.
Sales executive (Mr. Krishnamurthy) was prompt and updated me with status as and when required.
Have clocked close to 150KM and here are my observations:

Pros
Power and torque are awesome (110BHP and 240NM)
Handling is amazing with 195/60-14 Michelin PP's
Build quality is fantastic
Has lots of space
Tilt steering is an added advantage
NVH levels are very low.
Driving comfort is good
Gear shift is very smooth and accurate (better than my chevy spark)
Clutch is light and smooth
No powerdrop when AC is on
Have not tested hard braking yet
Body roll is minimal as the suspension is stiffened in Getz D
Have not tested fuel efficiency

Cons
No ABS
No rear defogger and wiper in GVS (only one model in Diesel)
No seat height adjustment
Poor head lights

Modifications and accessories:

Tires and alloys
Upgraded tyres from stock Good year GPS2 175/65-14 to Michelin PP1 195/60-14 on P&W 14" 6J alloys.

ICE
HU - Pioneer 3090UB with front USB and feather touch (Rs.8K with 2 years warranty and 1 year theft insurance)
Front speakers - Polk Audio 6 1/2 inch components with crossovers and tweeters (Rs.7.5K)
Rear - Polk Audio 6X9 coaxials (4.5K)
Amplifier and subwoofer(will be installed in a week)

Got sunfilms, leather steering cover and keyless entry as freebie from dealer.
Planning to install gear lock and headlight bulbs shortly.

I would like to thank my team-bhp friends for helping me in deciding car and accessories.

Have not taken pics after installing alloys. Will take them and post.

Firstly, congrats djay99 on your new 1.5L Getz CRDi . Nice pics too.

Secondly, is this an upgrade from your Sparky or is it second car in your family?

I know, you cannot compare 1 L petrol Sparky with 1.5 L CRDi, but I would like to know your driving experience with a bigger car. I would appreciate if you can give pros and cons of CRDI Getz with peppy Spark.

Congrats mate
Thats a great car. European styling, the cabin looks fresh and its also very practical in terms of space utilization.

The Ganesha on the center console reminds me of my car, I used to have similar one in my old car

Enjoy the ride.
