Congrats on your purchase!

You are right, the steering is simply superb. Brilliant feedback. Not some wishy-washy toy like feeling.

Did you get a leather-wrapped steering wheel?

Post some pictures soon.

Footwear changed

Hey all,

Just an update that I have changed the footwear for my new car now.

I have changed the stock tyres to 185/65 R14 Michelin Energy XM1+. It costed me Rs 7600 for 5 tyres after exchange.

I can not compare stock tyres and new ones extensively as I had driven 300 kms on stock ones and that too mostly in the City. But the road grip is improved and noise levels are dropped with new ones.

Cheers

Neo, Pankaj has done the right upsize!

For Palio 1.1/1.2/1.3 with stock tires (165/80 R13), the right upsize is 185/65 R14.

And for Palio 1.6 (stock 175/65 R14), the right upsize is 185/60 R14.

Do refer the Palio tires thread for details.

Congrats on buying the best hatchback made in India.

Glad that you bought it based on the technical merits of the vehicle and not on the lowest rupee per kilometer standard.

After running in gently, you can a lot of fun with your Palio 1.6. It is a real performance oriented vehicle that very capable and solid.

How about some pictures? Llumar tints should go well with a black car.

But his car is 1.6 and he has upgraded to 185/65 R14. The right upsize is 185/ 60 R14.

Right, I was confused as for me it is 185/60 R14

And his is 1.6, so even he should have been gone for 185/60 R14..

Hey all,

Thanks. I will surely post some pics. I will take some good pics this weekend and post them.

Well, by looking at the comments here everybody is saying right upsize is 185/60 R14. Well I had a look at those as well. But decided to go with 185/65 R14.

Actually I had a look at the excel spreadsheet in 'Tyres & Alloys section'
Its mentioned 185 65 R14 there.

I am bit concerned now. What will be the negative effect of this upsize ? As far as I know there will be some speedo error but thats just +2.2 % so I think that should be fine.

Cheers
Pankaj

You are right Neo & PatienceW! I got it wrong! I thought Pankaj's car is 1.3 MJD!

Pankaj, since you have upsized to 185/65 R14, there will be a Odo & Speedo over-read of 2.23%.

So when your speedo reads 60 kmph, you're actually travelling at 61.34 kmph. Same with Odo reading.
Otherwise, no issues as such.

Just out of curiousity, Pankaj!

Does the Palio Stile 1.6 now comes with new red badge or it still displays the old blue badge?

Also guyz if car purchased from another city like Pune, can we have it registered from the residential city for eg. Mumbai? Or how does that work?
