Thats a neat price in the showroom for the ORVM. Even an Indica ORVM in Tata showroom costs 1200INR.
I observed on thing in this Palio, is it a mandate to put the number plate in the front towards the side a bit than the centre?

@Anup

There is no holes provided in the bumper for fixing number plates in the front. They drill the two holes and fix it at the showroom. Hence I don't think its a mandatory one. Mine is in the Center.

It has been quite long I have updated this thread.

Yesterday I have given my Stile for First service and below is a small report on that.

Booking

I have booked @ Concorde ECR for last saturday and changed it on Friday to this week. But to my surprise I got a call @ 11:30AM on Saturday reminding me that I have a booking for service conveyed the message to the caller that I have already postponed it to 25th.

As expected I got a reminder call on 24th about my appointment.

Over all rating - 9/10

@ Reception

Went to the showroom by 9:45AM being first time I missed and spent some time searching for the center. Surprised to see that I need to go thru the gate marked as "ALM Matric Hr Sec School" to reach Concorde Motors .

Made a gate pass at the gate along with the meter reading. Parked the vehicle and entered the reception. My Name was ticked OFF from the list of which the lady already had with her. I was requested to wait in the Waiting room - marked as Longue.

Meeting with the Service Personal

After 25 mins of waiting period I was attended by the Service Personal. Came to know from the discussion that he handles all FIAT customers. I explained him this is my first service and few problems

1. Rear Left door plastic cladding fallen off
2. Minor rattling from the dash at 4th and 5th gears
3. Water drops on the dead pedal while driving with A/C
4. Front Right door glass beeding is about to crack
5. Status LED not installed along with the Minda Remote lock
6. Front Right wheel cap is loose and it projects out even after a short run

He has promptly accepted to fix the 1,3,4 and 6th issues. After a short test drive 2 point was mentioned due to the Pioneer HU. He mentioned that there is no Status LED available with the model of Remote lock installed.

I also opted for Under body Anti Rust coating and Teflone Coating with 5 year warranty and second coat on next service respectively. Due the treatment options I wont be able to get my car delivered same day and fixed at 10:30AM 26th (Today).

Experience during Delivery

I couldnt get a proper sleep leaving my car at the garage got up at 5, got ready and took a bus to the service station which about 25kms from my home. Reached there by 9:15AM though the time was fixed at 10:30.

The service personal came in by 9:45 and mentioned that the car is yet to have a polish and all other works are complete. I waited there till 10:15. In the mean time I have payed the bill of Rs.6885 for the treatments and a super glue paste. I was informed the car is ready and went to check the vehicle.

First thing I checked is the plastic cladding which has been haunting my mind for quite some time and it has been Super Glued before the satisfaction could be shown on my face I got upset when I saw the glue being spiled on the doors and the guy who was polishing the car said its impossible to remove it. After a short convincing session he got some solution and whipped it off but I could see some shade difference still.

All the seats where filled with enough finger prints and marks of greece. One can imagine how will it look on a Beige covers. So the second upset which is now very much evident on my face. The service personal who escorted me understood it but was waiting for me to tell him to get it cleaned ( I don't know why but ). Only rear and co-passenger seats where cleaned and drivers seat is left for me to do the job ( my mistake I should have taken a second look thoroughly). The third surprise which was waiting for me has helped this to happen

I just checked the wheel cap and there it is. A deep scare in it. When asked about it the service personal promptly responded back it should have been there before itself. I got pissed off but didnt want to loose temper since I was 100% sure it was not there before. He has made notes of every minor scratch on the bumpers the day before and how came he could have missed it. I wanted and explanation and a replacement for the same. He has agreed upon and said that he will check with the technician who worked on the wheels tomorrow (today being a sunday) and call me back. Don't know how far this is going to work.

With all the above disappointments I came to the Remote Lock status LED. I have gone with the manual in case he again says there is no such thing in this world. As expected the same happened and I showed him the manual. The reply I got was that I need to call Minda support to get the things done since the installation is not being done by TATA. This is a news to me.

After all these I don't want to stand there any more and took off. One the way I noticed that there are marks of 3M paste all over the front doors.

Went home whipped them OFF clean myself and started putting down the things here.

Overall Service rating : 4/10

During the time I was waiting for my car to get ready I had a casual chat with the service personal about the Palio and Linea. Upon hearing some of the answers I was surprised how come he is handling Palio customers for service. Tired to put down the conversation we had.

Me: What do you think about the Mileage of the New Palio?
He: Mileage is not so good. One of my customer mentioned he is getting only 9KMPL on his 1.2 NV.
( Is 1.2 NV still manufactured now?)

Me: So which car you think has better mileage out of all you have seen here?
He: Indica Vista QuadraJet between 15 - 17KMPL incity and upto 26 on highways

Me: Aren't both MultiJet and Quadrajet are same?
He: But they are tuned differently hence the difference

Me: Any idea on Linea launch dates?
He: It will take another 6 months minimum

I hope first set of Linea customers shouldn't be used as Gunny pigs.

Hi Lightpower, that was not so pleasant experience at Concorde ECR!

I suggest you to try a different ASC next time, maybe Chennai Fiat owners can recommend the same!

Meanwhile, you can mail your service experience to Fiat Service at: service@fiapl.com
Concorde ECR ought to improve their service standards, that too with the Linea launch in next two months!

@Lightpower -: That was a really bad service!! I would have gone mad if I had seen all this done on my car. I would have blasted each and everyone in sight.

Change the service station and see if its better. Also don't forget to drop in a mail to the FIAT and TAT guys.

All the best!!!

Have wrote a mail to FIAT on Friday and got a response on Saturday stating that it has been forwarded to TATA and will get appropriate response. Today got a call from Concorde ECR with an offer for fixing the issue with free pickup and drop. I softly denied it since i wanted to be there personally for get the things done. Hence fixed an appointment for Saturday.

Hope she gets a better attention this time.

After meeting Mr.Sivalingam ( manager CR) and few more discussions they have agreed for replacing the wheel cap. He also apologized for the issue. I have already taken care of cleaning part anyway.

So as of now the issue is fixed.
