And here we go.. in a punto

And here we go,
[Everything from here on is SUBJECTIVE opinion i.e. it is open-ended.]

Pre-purchase considerations,
swift-- if there were a zdi,day one purchase, and that too a year ago

i20-- if the asta crdi, otr were 7lacs.again day one.

Jazz-- no diesel, and too expensive for the trim level,if they were offering equipment levels same as asta[o] in i20,i would still consider it.

Reasons for a diesel car?
Daily commute of at-least 80 kms,so petrol wasn't a consideration.I would go bankrupt with f-e of 9-10 km/ltr.

Reasons for a punto?
Looks,
Price tag of e-pack.
Airbags,
"neela aur main"
Tire size in e-pack
F-e of 1.3 Mjd
Maintenance of MJD
I like my cars "heavy"

Discussions pertaining to buying a FIAT,
Its already been done everywhere on the forum[a.k.a fiat bashing],so lets chuck that, but i feel they have progressed from being utterly disastrous[uno, palio era] to reasonably average now.Hopefuly they improve further and re-construct the perception of the people about their cars.

You have heard it all about interior quality, the ride, everything and anything else,so chuck that, check the pictures.

Minor points--
It doesn't matter to me this car doesn't "fly" after 2000 rpm's like a swift vdi does.I knew that fact well before buying the car.

The interior quality is on par with a swift, again thats my opinion, the i20 eats up everything else, and that too alive in this department. The finish i.e. the fitting of the plastic just seems rushed, and that is disappointing.

I won't be changing the head unit, since 'neela aur main' wont be compatible with a pioneer, but i'll throwing out the speakers in about a months time, and films will be installed after the rainy season.
The stock music system is better than most of its counterparts and does the job reasonably well.

The rear seat is very comfortable for my family,so no issues there. We are all 5'7,5'8 so maybe thats the reason. And the front seats are extremely comfortable, very sporty.

People have been ogling at the car,and a person on a bike on raj ghat bumped into the van ahead, because he was looking at the car rather than in the front. That was hilarious to say the least!! And the earful the van guy gave him,was very very interesting!!

"Neela aur main" impresses everyone and anyone, and the feature list @6.5 lacs is also impressive to everyone[including the fiat hating uncle].

The acc is fantastic.I couldn't have asked for more performance from the a/c.

I can feel how much one gets joy buying car for himself. Heartiest congratulations for Punto and it is your best choice. Fiat's Multijet is gem in CRDi technology. Fiat still did not sell his patent rights of multijet to other engine manufacturer. That is why multijet Crdi technology is far better than other Common Rail Diesel Engines.

Enjoy your excellent ride with excellent machine.

Congrats and Smile Now, you have made the point! I feel Fiat has been done in more by these uncles than anything else. "Pappu Tey Pappu de Papa di Gaddi" wala uncles are the ones that have always pooh-poohed all Fiat products. "Saddi mrutti" has been the slogan in these cases. Change is evident, presently, Fiat seems to be working hard.

Nice choice of color too smilenow. Is there any owner on Team BHP with a BassaNova white Punto?

So far they are all Exotic red, Electric blue and Medium gray puntos. Still waiting for black, white and minimal gray puntos here.

There is a minimal grey punto owned by "sukrit7" in the forum.

Palio and uno uncles and their friends[guys who had horrendous experiences] are the ones that are a major hinderance to the sales of fiat,be it the linea,or this one.
This can be removed only through word of mouth marketing, and that can be achieved by providing spares at reasonable prices and instantly, which currently fiat is doing.
I'd give them 2 years,if they maintain a consistent effort to fully get back up on their feet.

On another note,the clutch!!!!!
Its just super smooth,silky smooth.
