twinblades, on a straight road, accelerate slowly without keeping your hands on the steering wheel and see which direction is the car moving towards.
Ideally it should just keep going straight.

13000 kms update

Not much to update apart from the fact that i treated the GP with a set of speakers.
Got rid of the stock and got JBL GT5 S 265C components for the front and the JBL GT5 205 for the rear.
Since I was tight on budget, had to satisfy myself with just these.
There is quite a increase in the quality of the sound.
This would suffice anyone; however if you are looking for some serious sound, the shop keeper recommended me Infinity or even Mutant X.
Again both of these come at a considerable increase in cost.
The JBL pair costed me about 7k.
the Infinity would have costed me 11k.
Not sure about the Mutant X.

Also, temporarily upgraded the headlamps to Philips Extreme Power, but still did not seem enough, so planning on going for Osram Night Breakers. Those will probably go on this week.

Next steps -
Scouting around for an arm rest, Abarth type seat covers and Alloy painting.

The big one - got an update from Race Dynamics. The ECU can be changed to get a 30% increase in power. So all this coming up soon.

Rest all things are same. Mileage hovering around the 16-17kmpl.
Did a recent 100km highway/350 km city cycle and got an average of 18.83kmpl.

Thats about it then

Gods-envy Did you get the replacement speakers fitted on the doors itself or did you get it fit on the rear parcel tray? Where in Bangalore did you get the speakers fixed?

sdp1975, typo. thanks for pointing it out. TASS advised on ECU change to Linea's ECU and RD pointed towards the tuning box. sorry again for the typo.

No SpinWizard , I did not want to replace the HU because changing it means I will lose out on the Blue and Me.

It was suggested that I do not go for the 100/90 as it meant cutting the plastic behind the lights. And I was told that during rainy season the head lamps might get fogged (as is problamatic in the Palio), hence refrained from the 100/90s.

I somehow felt the Xtreme powers were really not that good enough.
How about the white ones from the Nightbreakers? Are they road legal?

Also, has anyone tried to paint the grill and fog lamp holders black? I feel it goes well with a white/grey/red car.

gods-envy , did the TATA-FIAT service centre offer to plonk the Linea ECU in the Punto ? Authorized service centres normally don't do that kind of a thing.

Yes they did, for my friend's MJD palio as well as mine.
Though my friend got it done from Race Dynamics and advised me to get it done there as well.

That's interesting info, I did not know that TASS was doing all this. I assume that the warranty would remain intact if done from a TASS ? Any idea on the charges ?

I guess that the torque/power would be the same as Lineas ?( even though the Linea is a VGT )

Sorry if I'm asking too many questions - just that I'm keen on an upgrade.

No problem at all Sdp,
Regarding the upgrades being done at TASS. I am not sure if its being done through the correct route. My friend knows the people there personally, hence they had offered to do the same.
Not sure about the warranty, but the price was about 16-17k (approx.)

Anyways, my friend suggested to get it done from RD.
Not sure about the power output.
The one that is on my friend's palio comes with one eco mode and two power modes - Power mode 2 going up to 30% more power.

He also told me that we would rarely need to use Power Mode 2 and hence suggested we do not waste money on it and go for the one that offers 1 eco mode and 1 power mode. I think this might offer about 15% rise in power.

I would suggest you go for the one with 2 power modes.Think its called the diesel ultimate or something. I have it in my MJD and I still think there is room for a little more power

Pardon my ignorance, but what exactly is the resulting difference between adding a Tuning box compared to a ECU re-map ?
