Is your model the prefacelift one or the facelift one?
Both of them have projectors whereas the prefacelift has halogen projector on the edges and facelift has HID on the innder side. They are only for low beam. The High beam is a direct halogen bulb without projectors so when the car is low beam only the projectors are on and when in highbeam both are lighted. I think you are referring the main bulb as the high beam bulb and dip and the projectors as dim. If I am correct in understanding what u asked then the answer is there.

Thank you V12Doc.
Thats correct.
Mine is a Facelift model. The projector is on the inner edge and this is for Dim. The main halogen gives the Dip.

I had trouble driving, and so did my dad with the Halogen projector in a hilly area as we get curves too frequently and this light is just not enough to spot any characters walking on the side of the road or any potholes which may come up.

So wanted to know if i can improve this without adding any new lights to my car or is that the only option left?

It is HID projector and not halogen.

If you want still better lightning go for a 36 inch LED bar.
It has both flood light and spot light LED reflectors

I think fortuner comes with one of the best OEM lights on any car under 30lacs today. Lights up the road like charms. Your need is cornering headlight which are not there on the fortuner. You could try attatching hella light on the grill or bumper. That might help but not sure if it will. Have never used those personally

Thanks for clarifying. I will check my options here.

Thank you. I will have a look at these and also request the service center to get the light allighnment checked to confirm thats not at fault here. The reason i am stressing is the throw from the projector is all on the ground and has less than 2 second distance in distance covered(less than 20 feet distance).

At what setting is the headlamp levelling at?

If it is at anything other '0', the beam throw will be closer to the car.

I don't think you can level the headlamps on the fortuner. They are auto levelling afaik. I tried finding the leveller when I bought it but couldn't so assumed they would be auto levelling.

My bad. Apologies. The Fortuner comes with an auto-levelling projectors setup, so if that is the case, check that self-levelling device also to know whether it is working or no.

Is there any plugin upgrade for navigation with the stock Head Unit of the fortuner? Has anyone tried it?

Yes ,there is one model available from Caska and megaudio.

What is the low ratio of the transfer box? A friend of mine is interested in buying this vehicle as he wants a proper vehicle for off-roading.

What security options are generally put in the fortuner to protect it against theft especially in the NCR region? Is the stock central lock and engine immobilizer enough?

Put in a gear lock to act as a visual deterrent and also invest in a sim based telematics device. This is the best way as you could disable the engine through SMS, in case of a theft. Sim based ones costs 15-20K and is miniscule to protect a 30 lac toyota
