The dealer put Garware SunFilm. I have only driven within the city - not taken it anywhere yet. Yea - the thought about the IND numberplate crossed my mind. Is the dealer required by law to provide me IND plates? Do let me know. Thanks.

Afaik not yet although a move in this direction is in the pipelines.

Most dealers charge you for the plate and put a shoddy one. You can argue with them *before* the fitting for an RTO approved one.

In any case, it isn't very expensive. Do get a new one. Your car deserves better.

Congrats Invidious.

I also have a FTA MD Linea. The colour of my car looks very different than the one you have posted. I hope that this is a problem with the photographs rather than the actual paint itself. ALso you wil see the Black grill (sorry for the low resolution image).

Congrats for your new linea. Do let us know your experience in details.

Also share your experience at TATA FIAT showroom.

How is the interior, is it very good.

@ anuprav - I already stated the slightly pathetic experience of not being given gas in my tank even AFTER checking with the foolish salesman thrice. The car ran out of petrol about 2 kms from the showroom. The interior is slick - I just want to get the seats done in leather. Personally, more than the interiors I think the finishing is better than those on a Suzuki but not as good as those on a Honda.

@ Ferrari1976 - I clicked the pictures when it was raining - perhaps that is the difference. It was cloudy - it is clearly quite bright when you clicked the pic.

Update on the Linea and not a happy one @ that.

The Blue&Me controls on the right side of the steering wheel have stopped working. I called the workshop and they asked me to come on Nov 10. I told them the car is only a month old and if they want me to wait 10 days - then give me a replacement car for 10 days. They balked and gave me a Nov 3 date. It is a touch disappointing. Anyone else have similar problems?

I will let you know what the experience was like.

^ Unfortunate. Try resetting the system by disconnecting and reconnecting the battery. Its Microsoft afterall!!

Yeah. Disconnect the battery and reconnect it after 10 minutes.

That solves it more often than not.

Got it fixed @ the service station. Works like a charm again. The battery thing worked - I was reluctant to do it myself first up. The service station was not the nightmare I expected - in fact it even serviced the Jaguars and Land Rovers. Once again on my asking the service center rep categorically told me not to install rear sensors. Bummer!

@invidious - which SC did you go to? Since you saw Jaguars and LRs, I am assuming its the the Tata SC at Prabhadevi.

@aarnes - Tata's showroom is at prabhadevi; its service station is at worli naka - close to the Four Seasons. That's where I went.

@vijay - sure thing - will do.

Quick update - After a month, yesterday was the first time I actually took the car at 3 am on a relatively empty highway and it gave me a Fuel Efficiency of about 14 km/l; bouncing up my overall average from 7.8 to 9.9
