Looks stunning.

Please get rid of that aftermarket front grill.
Its spoiling the whole look and looking very cheap on otherwise classy vehicle.

One of my all time fav cars but that after market grill looks horrible and really out of place of such a classic Merc. It reminds me of a Korean or Chineese car company that copied the looks of the Merc E class. Are you sure it's original? AMG usually makes classic products and this doesn't look like one. Check this from eBay

If I were you, I would replace this with original grill and maybe even take the exhaust tip off (call me old fashioned but I love the Merc the way they actually are)
As for the alloys, the 5 spoke AMG alloys you got doesn't seem to fit with the car's character but the AMG alloys shown by Nandishpal is simply amazing...I'm sure it would look way better!

hmm..as everyone else has stated here can you please go back to your orignal grill.. also try the stock headlamps with clear indicators. She has turned out to be a stunner none the less!

Congrats!

Hi All,

Thanks for the kind words ! Yes am planning to put the original grill! I have been travelling extensively and have no time to get things done plus this is not my daily driver! Guess will get things done and do a proper shoot soon!

Thats an awesome restoration ! I love those 5 spoke alloys as well. the black color gives it a MAFIA look . I will keep my eyes open to see a black Mercedes with smoked headlights in Bangy!

Can you please share the details of the workshop in Bangalore where you got your E220 restored. Also, by chance would you still be having the original OE alloys with you? I can buy them off if you are willing to sell them.

Machdar, stick to silver please. Get some nice tints, alloys, tyres and no.plates. Wheels alone are enough to make your W124 stand out from the crowd.
Dear GTO,
I have been searching for alloys for the w124 (white color car) for a week on the forum now. Haven't been able to find any nice example but have read from you about how good alloys would matter so much to enhance the looks of a w124.

Kindly share if possible some pictures of what you believe would be great.

this is what i currently have

Re: My 1996 E220 W124: A Restoration Project | Running Report

No offense but this type of end of this beautiful Cinderella, a fairy was sure. I must appreciate the morale, patience shown by the restorer but the end product was not as was expected.
Everyone has liberty of doing whatever to their car but then what is the real meaning of restoration. I think restoration means to bring back the original beauty of the car. One even can not tolerate the new interior, grill. After observing the end developments, one can say that this restoration project was an ideal example of what not to do to your original beautiful car.
I literally felt that someone take me to the high mountain of expectations and thrown me from the cliff to the hell.
I repeat, I do not want to hurt anybody.
