I noticed today that the 'nano' monogram at the rear has been SCRAPPED out and STOLEN by some smart idiot...!!! I dont mind loosing the logo - but why use a screw driver!!!:Frustrati

I do NOT intend to replace it.

It's bad enough to have the monogram stolen, what makes it worse is the idiot used screw drivers and literally scraped them off. Sorry to see that kind of damage, Svsantosh. Makes me wonder though, what could someone possibly gain from stealing the monogram of the cheapest car in the world?

You're in luck that you own a dark silver car. Spend 30 minutes with some rubbing compound on that area and watch the marks disappear. Believe me, those scratches will be 90% gone.

This was my 1st reaction too... Even a nano has become a thief's target!! I will surely trying the rubbing compound thing.

Did a 600~ Km round trip and just back at home. The trip included nearly 200Km of Absolute TORTURE roads...!! Anyone familiar with Virajpet-Hunsur road enroute to Coorg land will know. nano did great and just flew over the patchy roads, thanks to its 4 indep suspension setup.

Clutch, as usual was a big pain in the leg..!! At times it needs only a few CMs of travel to engage, at times a few Kms..!! The cable needs some quality control + the clutch assy itself needs some more better engineering.

Didnt bother to check FE, but I am sure it was 20+.

On the way back, did steady 90-100Kmph on empty desolate S.H from Mysore-Bangy, at one point we head beep-beep, beep-beep, beep-beep..!!

Was surprised to see it was the speedo warning and all lights on the dash lit up like the Xmas tree..!! Car did not stop actually, but I decided to slow down to 90s.

What really happens if one continues to ignore the warning and ride on???

IIRC the fuel supply to the engine gets cut off.

Coorg roads are the ultimate test for any vehicle's suspension. Our old Indigo always needed some suspension part to be replaced after every Coorg trip.:Frustrati Good to know that the Nano handled it well.

I completely agree here. The Nano's clutch is a weirdo! As the kms are getting logged on, the clutch feels horrible to use in my brother's Nano. I drove it after a long time last week and, it's as if the wear & tear is at a much faster rate than in other cars.

Me and wife in front 2 seats. Light luggage over the rear bench. Less than 180Kg combined load inside the car.

The clutch pedal acts weird. In cold starts, it is normal, as per the last known setting from Tass/Factory. But as heat builds up, the clutch or the cable or God knows what starts to FADE - At a Rapid Rate..!! Sometimes the pedal needs to be released only a CM to engage it, sometimes only twitch my left thigh. It is as if the pedal is a touch screen..!! Sometimes the clutch jerks violently...!! It stalls big time.

All above issues only when heat builds up.

Tass assured me that constant lubrication of the cable will solve this issue. Me thinks we need a drive by wire, or just a better delivery system for the clutch!!

So how many kms have you clocked as on date.

A similar issue existed in my neighbours M-800 2001 batch. every 15000 kms he used to go in for a clutch cable replacement.

What i say is .... " If your car is under warranty, yell the hell out of TASS people and get these replaced.

1) Clutch
2) Loading plate
3) Releaser Bearing
4) Clutch cable.

This will solve your problem.

Raghav avvare - 9K Kms in less than 10 months. 95% satisfied customer, 5% to the stupid clutch issue. I can live with everything else, because it is as per spec and in the owners manual..!! Not a fading clutch every day into heavy traffic. Warranty tried once, got a new starter motor - need to raise my voice more for this clutch I think.

The engine/fuel supply does INDEED get cut off @ 105+. The car just lurched forward at sudden starvation of fuel... nice trick!!

I don't seem to understand what exactly you mean by 'Clutch fade'. Are you referring to clutch slippage or extent to which the clutch pedal needs to be depressed for disengaging. Please explain for my benefit.
I do have this recurring sticky-lever problem when shifting to reverse or to 1st gear. The TASS does some 'clutch cable adjustment' to fix it.

My Nano has just crossed 6.7K since March '10 and I'm happy with its performance. In fact the major sore point ( pun intended ) of poor ride comfort on rough roads seems to have improved. I feel the suspension now handles the bumps better. Either, my underside is getting used to the car or the car's underside is getting used to the roads :)

I mean the pedal travel, clutch-fading was just a made-up term from brake-fade, it has a mood of its own, works fine when cool, after heating up in traffic acts jerky.

Good to know it is better either ways...
