re: The Renaissance of my JET-White FIAT Linea T-Jet+ (2200 kms Update & Photos on Page6)

Congrats Sathya on the T-Jet.

The narration on going back to FIAT reflects the passion on the earlier one. Share us the pics - the 16 inch wheels and disk brakes make us drool

Amazing car and awesome photographs. Complete drool material!

Wish I could see your car in flesh. Seats are too good man. Are those leather covers or fabric. Couldn't make out.

No need to say 'enjoy your Jet'. Your narrations says reflects and more.

Congrats again.

Congrats sathya for the T-Jet. As always, Linea looks awesome in the snaps and with those delectable 16''alloys, just clinches the deal.
Happy motoring.

Congrats! That's a beautiful car. BTW, don't you think that there are too many stickers on the car?

Hi Sathya

I noticed this strip on bumper which is not present in my Linea or any other earlier Lineas. Any idea what is this about? This strip is there on front and rear bumpers.

Even I wanted to ask the same. That strip is present on the rear bumper too!

@Sathya: Congrats on the T-Jet. FE seems too good for the power it gives. Keep us updated.

Civic-Sense: There are totally four. 1 in the front Windscreen and 1 at the back wind screen. 1 in the boot lid and 1 in the left rear fender. I believe they exhibit the Car and not to say even my character too... so planning to retain them.

NutsBolts/Driv3r: The strips are after market fitment in areas where minor scratches are prone to happen.. like corners of bumbers, corners of taillights, corners of both mirrors etc. I got it from Xenos just for my personal satisfaction. I think the mirror ones must be useful since my earlier MJD always got scratches on her mirrors (blame rash bike drivers and cyclists who dont care for others).

And dude.. your beauty is simply stunning!

One more interesting thing---

Yesterday, I went for Din in the night where I had to drive through-

City Traffic conditions - Moderate to heavy
Roads - Really bad for 40% of the stretch.. i mean real bad where you cannot take her beyond 2nd gear.
Speed - Moderate foot

and Guess the fuel efficiency.. It did not dip below 12km/lt per MID, the actual Fuel eff was 12.6km/lt which is strange. In the same stretch before the highway trip.. the fuel efficiency hoovered around 9-9.5km/lt. A welcome change and definitely got smiles in my face.

100% true that we need to be easy on the car for the first few 1000 kms. Initially I did not believe in it but now after yesterday's change in FE.. I have started to believe in it. i will follow the run-in meticulously.

Now my city mileage hoovers around 11.5 - 12 km/lt. Yes.. i did reset the MID after yesterdays' highway trip.. so the readings are fresh..Good isnt it for a beast!

Regards,
Sathya

re: The Renaissance of my JET-White FIAT Linea T-Jet+ (2200 kms Update & Photos on Page6)

Some observations by my family:
1. Rear seats are wider and leg room is slightly better. I am not buying this.
2. Front passenger elbowing is less. I accept - May be slightly different packaging of seats. May be!
3. Fit and finish of metal parts are better. My wife suffered an injury with the seat rails once when she was sitting at the back. it did create a cut in her legs. In T-Jet+ it is good.. no rough metal parts..
4. Bonnet release is tightly fit. Cannot remove it easily. Good
5. Dead pedal is better. Not flimsy anymore. For those who own a Linea will know it is shaky and flimsy.
6. Third rear head rest is a boon.

did a quick 31km in city. MID figs,

Avg: 11.2km/lt
Avg Speed: 19km/hr
Roads: bad (for those who know chennai, its nanganallur roads)
Traffic: Moderate to Heavy

Some more observations will follow as time passes by..

Also installed Ecodrive.. For 28kms that I did after the installation.. here is the statistics..

Sathya

PS: For those who have installed Ecodrive, How to reset the BLUE and ME to factory default if there is an Issue.. Please let me know.

Congrats Satya ! So the quality of materials have improved with t-jet ! Do you know whether this is only in t-jets or even the MJD has better plastics?

Also the GC improvement is because of the 16 inch alloys?

Sathya, Congratulations!
Where did you download ecoDrive from? I tried it from the FIAT site but while creating the profile I see that 'India' is not available yet. Did you choose some other country?

re: The Renaissance of my JET-White FIAT Linea T-Jet+ (2200 kms Update & Photos on Page6)

Congrats Sathya. I have been following Linea/City and now Vento threads keenly, so I have read practically all your posts. But I never imagined you will buy a Tjet, since I was thinking you are still going strong with your MJD. Your review of Tjet shall be the most interesting one since you owned a Linea and were aggressive with FIAT when you had issues but very passionate with the car. The pictures add glory to the beauty. I have been delaying my City buying decision for more than a year (linea was stopping me, but at the same time I was quite concerned about the issues, GC and the sheer size of the car). I am a little bit worried about driving this big car in Chennai, esp I had to cross raj bhavan everynight, which is becoming a nightmare. That the improved GC helps in handling the real bad roads of Chennai, particularly Nanaganallur is heartening, as I stay there. What was the on road cost and any discounts on Tjet?
