Hope you are enjoying your ride If its your jeep around NMS in the morning, then I have to say that the tyres look outstanding!!

I have put the plans on hold for now as I got a new BULLET last week. It is going to happen sometime in the future, that's one thing for sure. Till then its just dreaming about the dream machine.

Boss, take it to some good road side mechanic and adjust the play on the rear drum brake pads. Make sure the wheel spins freely after the adjustment. A good amby or old maruti mechanic would be able to do this easily.

Gp for the full process. Get the coolant and air from the capillaries purged, replace clamps with Maruti Zen clamps and fill coolant. Tehn the job will be done to perfection.

I am really amazed at the interior quality difference between the top end bolero and Thar and yet very little difference in the price. Its mere difference of 30000 OTR price.
I really wonder why some of the aesthetics of Bolero especially dashboard is not there in Thar when the bucket seat is picked from it.

By the way, front top is FRP & has open-able hatches and the cabin extension has been fabricated in metal and lined internally. The rear flips open for luggage stowage(activated by a lever near the driver's seat). This was done by Prabhu of HHT fame.

Yep, it will happen. That is how the Jeep bug is.

My niece is in NMS so there is a fair chance that it was mine.. was it without canopy and brushed steel roll cage? if yes, then it was definitely mine.

BTW, here are two pics from a few days ago. Kind of before and after I would say. I like the "after" one better

Since then, got the bumper changed (Original one broke after a rugged trip in desert.), installed two LED lights on windshield mounts and some other changes. Will post new pics soon. Perhaps I should start a ownership thread.

@Janant06 @maheepgupta - Great looking Thars there ! Rugged, Rustic and nice pictures It has been 15 days since I am driving my Red Thar after taking delivery - as my one and only vehicle. Enjoying every moment of it. Waiting to post a ownership thread once I complete 1000 kms and also put some pictures of small little mods i am doing (DIY) to make it better to my tastes while keeping it stock. Few borrowed ideas and few on my own - haha. Credit goes to our Tharians and the forum - Goodluck guys.

Dear Jayant06 - hello to you. Thank you for your gracious comments, I appreciate. These comments also make me feel good about myself which is a very nice feeling to have. .

You know Jayant, your vehicle is very special for me, because you are the first person to have fitted the original CJ3B bumperettes with the small rear bumper spacer ends on your vehicle. Now the vehicle really looks like JEEP from the back. I had been mentioning this for so long but nobody had done anything upto now, you did it, so thank you! .

These are very small things which can be done easily and they completely transform the charm of the vehicle when it runs on the road. As you have started, please do the same treatment for the front bumper also (use the original CJ500DI chassis bumper, get rid of the monstrosity that is there now). Add two U brackets above the windshield glass on the frame, these brackets are supposed to give the correct windshield frame angle to the bonnet when the frame is folded down. Be careful to position the brackets exactly as per the MM540 dimensions. Then fold the windshield down (it is foldable) and see for yourself. You will go FIDA over the stance!

Jayant, an amazing ride you have got there. Would you mind sharing more about the cabin extension? Is there space for a front-facing rear seat in there too? and is that a sunshade screen covering the rear glass? I am guessing one could still install foldable bench seats in the back for those rare occasions to seat extra.

The twin cabin extends to the beginning of the wheel wells & is roomy enough for amply reclining the driver & passenger backrests - no place for a bench seat. The AC is also very effective in this enclosed area. The rear portion flips up to hold luggage between the wheel wells.

And yes, that is sun film on the rear glass. I have left a 6" gap all around & that keeps the police happy too
