| Re: UB's Wedding : A 3 day, 3 car trip to Manipal / Udupi Can't help but comment on this thread though nowhere closely related or associated to anything at Manipal or a manipali  (did I just coin a new word).The thread looks so damn exciting and now I am hooked and looking forward for the updates. Hemanth/MCR, it's already close to 7 hours and no update from you guys!! You promised hourly update, hope the Photon is working  And man it sure looks like a small world. Wishing you guys loads of fun, excitement, happiness and contentment on this trip. |

| Distinguished - BHPian   | Re: UB's Wedding : A 3 day, 3 car trip to Manipal / Udupi My abarth left home at 5:00 am Picked up more fellows and reached CMTI on tumkur road at 5:30am Waited for the avenger guy and finally left Bengaluru at 5:45. Reached Hassan at 8:25 and a small shoot of the two cars     After Breakfast, drove through Shiradi ghat. It is just too good right now Except for a small jam due to a small truck accident.   Then another small stop for a shoot  MCR at work     Reached Kateel Temple   Kateel Godess  Shots around the temple   UB's cat looking at us so as to say "Who are these crazy BHPians?" Problems with the internet connection at home, commitments at office delayed my posts. So continuing with our journey... I went around UB's house taking some snaps... Beautiful flowers asked me to take their pictures and I obliged   Well rings  A special kind of red tender coconut  UB's cats were having fun   Homegrown Mangoes  VK loved the laddoos offered and he gulped down 5 of them. Caught here gulping the 5th one.  Since we spent more time in UB's home, Our timetable underwent change. Instead of the planned Malpe beach for the sunset, we instead decided to go to the much near Kapu beach. Seemed that the sun was angry with us for not caring his heat and driving all day. He didn't allow us to capture his dive into the arabian sea. We missed the sun set but not on some nice "churumuri" and some cool pictures. time for some silhouettes...  VK cooling his feet after a very hot day for him  Kapu light house  This was the last I saw him for the day...   The moon was right on time for the night-shift  More shots around the beach...    "Lead kindly light"...UB seems to be asking for directions...bachelorhood coming to an end  After a long day and 448 kms on the ODO, we were tired and went to the lodge and got our rooms. Ladies took rest and the BOYS were getting ready again. Why?? "Its the time to disco...." not exactly disco but it was PARTY TIME. UB hosted a bachelor party for all his friends. It was a nice setting (except for the LOUD music) and we just chilled out. The lounge with live IPL (I don't remember the match though)  The party began to take shape  VK loved the SPICY chicken  A small laser show ended the day for us   By the time everybody hit bed it was almost 2:00AM. It was a wonderful journey of 450kms and a nice party to end it. I personally loved the drive through the Shiradi ghats. Sunset was a disappointment but the party pretty much made up for it. Day 2 coming up soon... |

Hope he is liking it here in India. But the Cats take the cake. Love their pics. So you guys had a long day and enjoyed it thoroughly |

VK is loving indian food but its too spicy for him. Masala Dose is his favourite. The cats were really cute. The ones having fun here are brothers. Their mother was always at a distance watching over her sons enjoying. Day 1 was sure fun. | |

WEll, Was a very hectic few days after UB's wedding. Too many things to tie up in the office. Date : 14-05-2011, Time : 6.30 AM. I start from my Mysore residence. But as every day before I start driving the car, I seek the blessings for a smooth and trouble free drive.  Mysore - Hassan is 110 kms. A distance which can be covered in 2 hours, driving at 80 KM/H. Met hemanth.anand at teh designated meeting point on the Hassan by-pass. We decided to have the breakfast at Hotel Surabhi in Sakaleshpur.  After the breakfast which was not so great, we started to descend the ghats. We encountered some huge payloads and a traffic jam on the ghat.      After this we headed till BC road. It was 12.15 PM by the time we reached BC road. We took the BC road - Kateel stretch to reach the Durgaparameshwari temple.  After darshan, we headed to UB's home. We were treated to a variety of snacks by UB's family. Later in the evening we headed to Kapu beach for the sunset. But the sun was behind clouds and this disappointed us a bit. However the Churmuri in one of teh beach shacks meant we were happy.   We reached Manipal at 8.30 PM. Later on we headed for a Bachelor party organised by UB for us. With no maintenance and our public mentality, Its littered with plastic everywhere. The same goes for the Malpe beach. I Feel sad that we are spoiling our own beautiful country. The road is good. The 4 laning activity is going on and hence the deviations are present but the road is free of potholes. There was too much of traffic when we went and so overtaking was always a problem.
