Yes, Finally, i made it to Kanha with 8 drives. It was amazing. I had a superb sightings. I saw a jungle cat and wild dog pack (which are rare). I had to go in the elephant for the king. This is the Kanha problem in the morning drive. Forest Department track tigers for the show and hardly any chance for tiger sighting in the morning drive, which i realised at the earliest. I covered all the three zones, loads of photographs are there. Definitely, i will updae all of them.

Best tiger photography, i did in Mukki zone, thanks to the Mahawat.

Ok, now back to the log.

After good sightings of Barasingha (swamp deer), we were on the way to centre point for taking a chance in the tiger show. Then i came across some action and some shots which i wanted to click viz., Chittal on hind legs and peacock dancing.

Love in the air. Entire Kanha was echoing with mating calls.

Amazing shots Subrat. Loved to see a TL, which started with wildlife photos other than the big cat. I am glued to this TL.

Now, looking at your photos, I am having a tough call to prioritise, mountains or jungle!

Looking forward for more!

Cheers!

This male Tiger has an injury very near to the left eye. And it looks fresh too...

Re: Adventure in Kipling Country - Kanha National Park

This was the third day at Kanha and after morning drive we were suppose to shift to Baghira log huts. As usual we got ready for the morning drive and enter the Khatia Gate. Just after the gate and before Baghira log huts, we got Leapord call. The leapord was sitting behind the rock and langurs were quite attentive with calling. It was quite dark, so, i pushed my ISO to 1000 for a record shot of leapord. We waited for quite some time but the leapord did not came out. We were really excited to shift that day to Baghira.

The morning drive was quite well and we opted not to go for tiger show.

Here are the photographs for the sightings.

Safari no 4

What a sighting, it could be, if the leapord should have come on top.

Wow! Awesome sightings, especially of the Python! Must say you were lucky to see all these. Good photography, what was the gear used?

Thanks you Nilanjan Sir. There are lot more to upload. Ok. Before, going back home and upload rest.....One different one, which was being spotted by Satish (driver), when i was tired and falling asleep while returning from our morning drive. Satish stopped suddenly on a hilly road and i asked what happened, he said something different kind of cameleon. I too saw this different one for the first time.

Here is the pictures.

Re: Adventure in Kipling Country - Kanha National Park

You got some super birds and other animals/reptiles. Pity, we didn't get to see any reptiles, but our other gypsy saw a python. I have not yet encountered any snake on a wildlife tour. And yes, nice pics!!

Btw, the 100-400 L series lens seems to be the 'in' thing for Canon presently, there were 2 guys with me who had recently bought it for 99K and 1.02L respectively. I am hoping Nikon launches a similar lens in India in the similar price range. The present one Nikkor 200-400 costs 5L for the new version and 4L for the old one! I would rather buy a new car for this price instead!!
