Fascinating, but definitely not an easy read. Thanks for sharing.

The mention of Kashi is what attracted me. The comments made it apparent that it was connected to the freedom struggles. But I did not expect that those untold stories would be encapsulated within the story of a pilgrimage.

Thanks RedTerrano for sharing this first hand account of history. It is a wonderful travelogue too. I read this in one go.

Re: Varsai to Kashi on foot : 1857-59

Just started the book. Showed it to my father who still has the original one in Marathi.

Thanks for this as it enables the younger generation to read such stories which otherwise will be lost by my generation.

Thanks to the encouragement by renowned historian Shri Uday Kulkarni, I (finally) took the plunge and submitted the manuscript to Garuda Books. Fortunately for me, they found the story worthwhile, and the book came into existence. As a first time author this is truly a memorable occasion for me.

For all of you who prefer turning paper pages while lounging on the sofa, perhaps accompanied by a cuppa, you can source your copies here

Amazon
Flipkart
Garuda

It all started as a travelogue.
Then it turned into a book.
Now, one month later, it is now the #1 Best Seller.

For a guy who did not even complete his graduation (by choice), this is an achievement indeed.
I am sure, as I lay on my deathbed, struggling to draw my last breaths and my life flashes in front of me in an instant, this one will bring a smile of satisfaction.
