Well, in 2000 that was a good stretch. I've done that zillions of times, starting from the 1960s.
But now that is the only stretch where the NH5 has not been 4-laned, especially from Berhampur to Sunakhala/Tangi. It takes forever to drive on that stretch nowadays.

Goa Pictures Jan 08

Boo Hoo :-( , the threads got cold it seems.

I should have done 'brake posting' like Yetibaba but the excitement in me made me post all photos like a film reel. And all the audience has vanished.

Ok Guys here are the pictures of my last visit to Goa in Jan 2008. What a time it was... first the toss down the Tillary Ghat and then the sun n' sand.

Gosh, do you plan all of these in 2008? How many have you done in the past 3 years? I guess you have earned yourself the title of being the Marco Polo of Team-BHP. Very soon hvkumar may be consulting you on road conditions.

Now Sir. Not all of them in 2008.

Some of the trips might be sponsored. esp the Kol-Dhaka one.

HVK is like the guiding star. When I drive, he wakes up all night and sends me sms on the route.

Now imagine how the fog would have been in the dead of night. I tried to drive upto the Kamats at 12 am only to find it closed and imagine after finding it closed in pitch dark how it would have been to reverse back the Bus that I was in, back the steep narrow road. The Kamat was looking like a bhoot bungla sort of thing... eerie stuff

Driving on Highways allow me to day-dream which is my fav. pastime. And when I drive at night I enjoy 'Highway Hypnosys' and surprise myself by covering large distances without even knowing I did.

I never drink and drive on highways. Though in the city its different. BTW The Cow was a teetotaler.
