My first reaction was Naldhera GC but then I realised it is a lake frozen over...pray tell or show some more....

Umm. Its almost 150km from Shimla plus a 7km trek if that helps.

And that's a frozen lake. Frozen hillside will come soon, post lunch.

Kufri doesn't have any lake like this. But I have seen a lot more snow in Kufri than this.

ok, if it helps, this was the route

PS: The car made such a bloooooody racket on the way home its not funny. Any guaranteed but affordable rattle-kill solutions?

Yup. Permanently remove all the interior pieces that rattle. Naa rahega Baans, naa bajegi Bansuri.

Phamilyman, are you sure you heard rattles from the car, or your own chattering self? Referring to frostbite.
