The weather was good when we landed there (early-Oct), but then started getting cold, which was OK. The rains were a pain though.

No, signals were common for all vehicles, as far as I can remember.

Merc taxis are common in most parts of Europe. When I saw that the daily taxi to work at Belgium was an E-class, I was feeling high. But then when all taxis are Mercs, the high wears away.

We never rode the trams - so don't know the fares - client's place was just 2kms away and we preferred to walk (taking in the sights/cars) mostly and took a taxi when it was raining. For a 2km distance, the fare would be around 300 Dinars (Rs225) and it is by the meter. And the meter runs even while car is stationary. So during rains, when traffic is bad, the fares were like 400Dinars or so.

BTW, some of the taxi-drivers are like the infamous Chennai auto-guys. We landed late night at the airport and there was a taxi-guy soliciting customers. His was a spanking new C-class and his meter showed 2600Dinars to the hotel. We learnt later that the fare is usually 1300Dinars. Like they say in Chennai "soodu vecha meter" - tampered meter.

And you know what, after dropping us at the hotel, the guy was like, "Hope you have a nice time at Serbia. You are my guests first and only then my customers". Should have known then itself.

4) Hyundai Accent - slightly different in looks from what we have here.


5) The sedan version of the Megane - much better than the ugly hatch version.


6) This was a sexy Audi sedan parked at a kind of Sunday market. Maybe experts can say which model. I have no idea.


7) The Astra - the lip spoiler is like what we have here on the Corsa and the rear boxy look has some resemblance to the Vectra. Speaking of the Vectra, I saw many of them here.


8) Another Audi. I leave the naming again to the experts.


9) A Merc flanked by namma Swift and the Smart.


10) The Chevy Kalos

The black one is definitely an A3
The Hyundai Accent was the previous version. About two versions previous to the one that we have.
The black Fiat is the Fiat Punto - Mark 2 Facelifted version. Infact there is also a red punto in the background of the Audi A8

Oops, my mistake. There are so many Sparks there, that I just assumed (wrongly) that this is also one.

Been a long time since I posted here. Some more snaps (of only 4-legged beauties though)

1) A Toyota hatch (Is it a Yaris ? Dont remember).


2) A hot hatch - though can't recollect which brand - the logo seems familiar, but cannot place it right now.


3) An Audi station wagon - as usual no idea what model it is.


4) A Honda Civic parked alongside a Spark. Hondas are very rare here - no idea why. In 10 days there, I might have seen a total of 3-4 Hondas - did not miss them though.


5) A Dacia Sandero hatch


6) Fiat Punto ?


7) The Nissan Micra - I guess I posted a snap of this hatch earlier too.


8) A New Holland excavator flanked on one side by a new Honda (Accord?) and on the other side by some ancient car. You can also see the left rear view of a Merc-taxi on the right-bottom corner of the snap.


9) The Skoda Fabia.


10) Is that a Fiat ?

In some of the pics I find the cars parked on pavements! Is that legal there?
