guys....mysore road is a better option...but once you make the deviation to malvalli from maddur...the road gets really pathetic...!! but this a definite better option than kanakpura road...and like someone mentioned...maddur vadas and kamat are a value add on the drive here are some pics i took:

DRIVE SAFE !! ENJOY !!

I thought of adding few pictures here. A day back visited Shivansamudram with my family. My friend and his wife came with us after we invited them.

It was very pleasant journey, 260km totally. Left Bangalore at 7:10AM and first visited barachukki at 9:50 AM and after spending sometime there visited Gaganachukki and returned towards bangalore at 11:50AM and ate unlimited JoladaRotti Meals at Kamat at Janapada Loka and reached home by 3PM.

Water is flooded everywhere its almost near to road level. It was very nice experience and one of the best so far we visited this place for more than 5 times.

Route: Nagarbhavi Ring road -> Mysore Road -> LEft Turn after Maddur -> Malavalli -> Shivanasamudram -> Back to bangalore in same route.

Road condition near Malavalli:

Yea true, Its over 3lac csq water according to Police. This Saturday and Sunday they are celebrating festival there and I can see that area is improving with good facilities at last.

During the night of these 2 days they are focusing with lot of lights so water falls will look still better. Going down near falls is strictly prohibited, there are at least 50 police keeping good eye on public.

Small park, hotels, may be rooms are being constructed for stay as well.
Only point this area is awasome for 4 months in rainy season so hopefully they will maintain the area well.

Ravi.

All these images and video captured with my new C763 Kodak digicam after my Fuji FinePix S7000 encountered technical bug in CCD.

@greatdrive: 16/08, my friend visited the place. And the road conditions are pretty OK. The falls is also good looking. This is the right time to visit the place.

I read in TBHP itself just few days back someone did this trip, he took blre - Maddur - Malavalli - shivansamudra. He said he drove his Getz in 1st/2nd gear for 25km after turned left Bangalore - Mysore highway after Maddur because road was very bad. I feel it that connecting road from bangalore - Mysore highway and Kanakapura highway which is in bad shape.

Regards,

Ravi.

Looks truly awesome. Should visit the place once, when there is water. The last time I went there (in 2003), there was no water and it was quite a disappointment. Here are few snaps:

Anybody visited Shivanasamudram recently?
If yes, please update the road condition Maddur - Malavalli - Shivansamudram.
Is there anything else to see around?
