I agree with you, weather in ooty is the best right now.

I remember. Your taxi and my Red Riding Hood passed by at the Emerald Dam gate. Indeed the World is a very small place.

Lalu - when do you plan to take some rest - er, from your travel !

So many trips this year - wonderful.

I noticed a marked change in the photographs and wanted to ask you, but SJ has already done the honours.

Good going - tell us more.

Well Murali, I guess I'd have to be at Bangalore till New year. So I guess I'll take rest from my travels now :D

This is my first try at some serious pictures. Please correct me if something could have been done better.

Yes, there are more. I'll be a bit slow since I'm handling the DSLR pictures for the first time.

Thanks 14000rpm. Other than the ones I had gone you can try getting a permit from EB/ forest Department to Parsons valley, Upper Bhavani, and Mukurthi areas. These are quite offbeat destinations and nature at its best. I had been there in 2006, on a wrong turn of road and ended up doing all this loop in the night :Shockked:, without any permits. But they really supported me in getting back, with a pilot Jeep from Parson Valley EB.

Lalu i think you had aldready made an impact with the Leh photos,i feel that you are doing a brilliant job. I do also acknowledge your serious attempt, it looks professional

Fantastic pics and good narration. Bangalore to Ooty in 4.5 hrs. you have covered some serious distance in a short time. Please continue, I am glued to this thread. Hope I can get time off to visit Ooty this year end or early next year and I will surely look up to this thread to get all the information I need. Thanks!

Good Pics laluks, you have a good sense for photography. Good Old Ooty all those nostalgic moments began haunting me all over again after seeing your pics. Was there almost 12 years ago.

I have been to OOty few times before, but with your photographs, it looks very different!! Keep up the good work.

Thnaks s3va.

Its a Nikon D90, acquired two weeks back :) After 6 years of digital photography with my Canon Powershot A80, thought it was time to learn something more. This was my first ever serious try. Hope it had come out well.

Regarding the logs, that's the work of my elder one. I just have to say and she writes it down. BTW my small one also has her logs, I will have to refer it for the second days details. We are a cool team, you know!!

clap:clap:

She was up at 3:45 when you started ?
that is amazing, you are passing on your travel bug to your children as well.

Personally i feel it is necessary thing to expose the children to these different places, they learn a lot. the children who have frequently travelled does not experience travel sickness, much more aware about the possible uncertainities, able to plan a bit better etc etc.

My daughter also takes very active interest in our travel planning.

WOWOWOWOW! Its all WOW for me. I was thinking I will have a trip first to Wynad in Jan and then in Feb to Masinagudi! And Ooty was never in my mind. Now the thought is reversed. First to Ooty and then to Wynad! :D And one more thing fellow bhpians. You guys are driving some of us real mad -- about photography! everytime I am seeing such nice pictures, the thoughts are getting really strong about acquiring a nice cam. Congrats on such beautiful pics. I love those wide angle pictures [not sure thats the right term to be used]. the first pic of swift with the lake background is stunning! I am flooooored!clap:
