Folks, though at the fag end of the tiger season, i am planning for a quick visit to TATR with family and contacted Fazal for guidence and Fazal has gone out of his way to help me organize the trip. Most of our communication has been on PM's, hence i wanted to share publicly how generous he has been to help a fellow BHPian.

Back with news of flourishing biodiversity all around

Hi everybody
I'm back after a 1 1/2 month of silence on the forum when I was extensively traveling to the parks just before they closed down for the rains and after most of the parks closed down, I have been going over to Tadoba on almost every weekend as Tadoba is one of the few parks which remain open even during the rains.

And I am back with some very good news.

Lots of pregnant female tigers in Pench and Tadoba.

Great pics Dr. Ghosh. You are lucky to be with nature every weekend and to contribute in a big way to save the ecology & definitely the king of the jungle. I will be visiting Tadoba, thanks to your post & pictures.

Thanks vinay
This weekend at Tadoba, I witnessed a rare Python on a tree apart from tiger and bear cubs in company of ExtremeTorque from hyderabad and his friends. My laptop is on ventilator so updates will be slow.

Will try to post some pics asap.
It was a wonderful meeting with ExtremeTorque and these guys were lucky to see a tiger in almost every drive that they did in this park.

Let me know who wants to join me for next weekend.

regards,
Dr. A Ghosh

Wonderful picture.

Could spot 5. The 5th tiger's face is visible in the background.

And then realised that the name of the picture file gives away the answer as well.

Cheers,

A stand-off between two super predators is an experience which shoots up your estrogen levels sky high. Being there and managing to capture them on camera is another bonus high, Only the person behind the camera can experience.

Dr. Ghosh you too were there at this time I believe, last weekend.

The two Photographs posted here with kind permission of Mr. Max Ali from Hyderabad who framed this action.

His words:
Territorial Stand-off in Tadoba It was indeed a very lucky day for the 3-Idiots (Farook, Ravi ad Max) as we were fortunate to watch a territorial stand-off between Tara (right) and the area's female (ID not yet confirmed). Tara, Crooked Tail and the 4 cubs had moved from Moharli into Tadoba range due to the heavy flooding in Moharli plus prey base movement. The female cub at the time this picture was taken was behind Tara to her right and it was very interesting that this battle had been going on for the whole night and day and neither female had caused any injury but kept up low growling and circling each other. The behavior of Tara proved that she had the upper hand while the other female was quite nervous. I am glad that I had a 32GB card :-)). Tara eventually headed back towards her remaining cubs with her female cub following behind her.

Territorial Stand-off #2 The circling has begun as Tara (right) starts sizing up the area's female. The unidentified female looks older and may be of the same age as Tara.

Its my pleasure sir and thank you for the kind words.
You can join me whenever you get time. Feel free to call me on 09960332228 if you need any assistance . What DSLR are you buying by the way ? Its always better to buy a slightly advanced second hand DSLR as your first camera than investing all your money on an entry level non performer. Just my 2 cents.

regards,
Dr. A Ghosh

That's very kind of you. I would be available at any time in sept. Are you planning anything in the time frame where I can join?

Ooops! I have already bought Canon Rebel XSi (450D) few month's back with an additional 55-250EF-S lens. So far it is doing quite good with landscapes and macros. You could better tell me how it will response to wildlife photography.

Regards,
Hriday
