you have many options to obtain a visa for UAE-
1) travel by Emirates flight & they will issue a visa for you, for a price, of course.
2) book a hotel in dubai & they will help you get a visa.
3) a UAE resident can get it done for you.

in our case, it was my relative who is a UAE resident who got the visa done for us, so i am unaware of the costing.

Ok, if I understand you right, we need a sponsor in UAE that will make things easier than we applying for one over here & its unlike visiting USA & should be as easy as visiting Singapore. Thanks for the info.

Even if you don't have relatives in Dubai, you can get visit visa through emirates airlines.

Any Dubai resident who full fills certain conditions like salary level, can apply for visit visas for close relatives like parents, in-laws, siblings, etc. I think there is some deposit to be paid.

If your relatives in Dubai has a business concern, they can get business visas for you.

PS.
Didnt see that Mr. Raj had already answered your query.

Nice photos. No close ups of the Burj-Al-Arab ? I mean you have photos but then I recently saw one taken from a beach closer to the building. If only I had the cash to go and spend a night there . Anyway thanks for sharing the photos.

Some pics of ski dubai which i missed earlier.

For those who dont know, Ski dubai is an artificial snow land. Its inside Dubai mall. Temp is kept at -3 degrees. you can go skating & there are some free rides for non-skaters. there is even a coffee shop & a bar inside.

Just came back from a 4 day business trip to Dubai. Didn't get a chance to see much but was amazed by the cars on the street. I could have stood there on the pavement by the side of the road and be entertained for hours just looking at the beauties whizz past me. The only sight seeing I did was that on the day of departure 3 hours before my drop off to airport i went n saw the Burj Khalifa.

@Raj
The Mustang in the 8th pic - Did you shoot it somewhere close to Khalid Bin Al-Walid Road, Bur Dubai?? Not exactly the main road but one of the inner roads.

During my travels I have used Dubai as a transit many times but this was the first time I went there. The hotel drop to the airport also had 3 Gujrati boys who were going back to Mumbai after vacationing and were carrying a 32" Samsung TV. In all my flights from Dubai to India I've seen at least 2 TVs in the check in luggage. Gujju boys told me they got the 32" for AED 15XX/- which is approx INR 20k.

My My. I never thought the snow place would be so huge. I heard of skating and things. But didn't expect a cable car to operate inside. This is HUGE.

If you buy an Emirates ticket, you get visa assistance from them. I think it costs Rs.3800 for a temp transit/visit visa.

the pictures dont justify the place. if you notice in the third pic, the slope upwards turns to left from where it is a huge climb upwards.

I visited DXB in Summer of 1999 and I still have many fond memories of that trip. Actually I was on my way to Tehran, Iran and had a 24 hours stopover in DXB thanks to Emirates. In that single day my uncle took me to City Center Mall along with other places and this was enough to ruin my stay in Iran, which lacked the international exposure of Dubai in terms of brands and concepts supplemented by language barrier. On my way back to Delhi I had about a week's stopover in DXB. City Centers, Magic Planets (indoor amusement parks), SUV drive on beach next to Burj Al Arab, Riding down the seaside in a red convertible BMW and so much, Dubai was great.

Raj, further pics awaited. DXB is a hub for Car Accessories and language is never a problem for Indians. Even the local Emirate Cop was fluent in Hindi.

I think I stopped dead in my tracks and admired this beauty which was parked at the same spot for 2 days. Damn, this is amazing - a TBHPian shoots a pic of a car on the streets of Dubai and another one figures out where it had been shot.

I plan to get one myself next time, if I get the time. Imagine INR20k for a 32" LCD
