Asheesh,
How come you are here on wildlife travelogues???

We keep meeting on 4X4' threads, seeing you here is rarer than sighting a Bengal Tiger in Sariska (prior to their relocation from Ranthambore).

Here you see a well fed family lolling about in front of you already, Why me lord?

Sir,
Thank you for the appreciation.
The eye of the storm was quitely sitting in the grass not giving an opportunity for good photographs.
But then it will have to get out of the snooz for another meal sometime.

Cooolcat, the pictures are top class. I am amzed to see so many pictures of birds. Looks like you are an avid birder. Keep it going.

Just returned from Kanha as well. It is possibly one of the the best managed parks in the country.

Coooolcat21,
You know, when I visited Pench last year, in the morning there was a tiger show and we saw three cubs of Collarwali, it was alright.

The same evening we were the first to encounter Collarwali herself just about 40 feet away from the road sleeping tight at about 3:30 pm and then she woke up and made us wait for two full hours just to stand up amd show herself, by this time there was a hoard of Gypsy's lined up. We waited and waited until she finally decided to stand and move and our wait paid off. The results show in my previous Pench thread when she claw marked the tree and moved inwards as it was time for a hunt before sundown and only her keen ears could hear what we couldn't. I remember that photo call so well.

That was the first time Dr.Ghosh and I were together photographing Pench.

Could you too have waited for them to wake up?

And, and, and somebody is shooting breathtaking landscapes.

Regards,

We too have waited in such situation for long hours, but then this time a forest offcial had parked himself there to make sure no one disturbed the happy well fed family. He was not letting anyone stay there more than 5 mins. But I was sure they will come visiting again.

We reach Kanha, everyone takes a break here, there is a canteen too which has a fixed menu of tea, coffee with Aloo bonda or samosa or bread pakoda.
There is a meuseum here which is a must visit.
Here is where the tiger show is announced, so after about 9 am everyone heads here. The drivers and guides have lots to discuss and information exchanged, some of which could be useful and some amusing to them.
A tiger show was announced in kisli, where the elephants had tracked down a male tiger .
We made up our mind not to go for the tiger show and wait for over an hour or more for our turn, ie incase the tiger decides to stay put.
This time the stripes had to come to see us, we were not going on elephant safari visiting him.
Spent some time here and we get back on the trails welcoming every bird or animal coming our way.

As we start our walk to the Gol Ghar the dried leaves crackle under our feet breaking thru the silence of the jungle. The same sound is heard in the night when the deer walk around in the maidan in front of our cottages and we keep wondering if there is a soft footed predater on the prowl.
But now that the sky is turning brighter and shedding its light for us to see better into the forest we dont envy the nocturnal animals anymore.

Wow! Beautiful photologue! Loved every bit of it! Loved the meadows one. Lovely angle! And the parrots seemed surreal! Loved it I am off to Tadoba for sure after my exams! Have got a 500D and haven't yet done wildlife photography. Hope I get a chance soon!
Thanks for the visual treat!
