^^ Looks good on the car. Any plans for the disc callipers? Paint them orange or blue. That will look great.

@prince_pervez: Thanks for your suggestion. I shall try orange callipers and will revert soon with them.

HRS Alloys and new Bridgestone Tubeless tyres for Indica

I've faced many issues with the stock steel rims that came in my Indica. They tend to get bent often when driven on bad roads. Got stranded in the middle of the night in Kodaikanal once with a completely blown tyre. Then i had a tough time finding a spare tyre before i could continue my journey downhill the next day.

So, i decided to throw away the old wheels and tyres and go for alloys with tubeless tyres. I was very keen on Bridgestone as i rely on the quality check done by them. I was persuaded to look for Appolo or Yokohoma, but somehow i didn't get the confidence on them.

While i was enquiring the dealers for the pricing, i found raja tyres, chennai offering a good quote. Mention of team-bhp earned a lot of respect from the owner and he knew that i'm not just another car owner. Managed to get 13" HR alloys and 175/70 R13 Bridgestone tyres for around 29K. Disposed off my old tyres and rims for mere 1K (they were that bad). Few pics of my car getting pimped up are here.

The HR alloys are 14" was running on low profile on my Wagon R.

The White gypsy disc will be on my Jeep soon.

The black discs are original 1.6GTX wheels, made by Fumagalli in Brazil.

And yes, I literally sleep with my wheels. All in my room. I have my Jeep doors, woofer, speakers, tacho and all my lovable items here.

Advice

Hi Guys,

Please see the below pic (took this pic from Tbhp)

The official alloy wheel show-off thread. Lets see your rims!-image_370.jpg

This is an HR Brand, BMW type 15" ,set of 4 alloys Priced at 24k in blore.

I have found similar pattern in F1 brand (15"), Priced at 18k for a set of 5.

Shall i go for F1 brand as the price is cheaper??? Please advice.

Also please let me know, what can be price of Yokohama S Drive 205/55/R15.

This will be fitted to Dzire silver color.

Regards,
Krishna Thanthri

Best stay away from F1s. While they are cheap, the quality is probably inferior to Plati, HR or League. You may save some money now but will not have peace of mind on our 'roads'.

See my post: http://www.team-bhp.com/forum/tyre-a...ml#post1361595

Why buy 5? In my opinion, buy a set of 4 but buy good stuff!

HR anyday over F1's. Moreover, never saw these F1's in Delhi, anyone having pics? Buddy, spending more on quality will be a wise decision.

HR is the way to go,

but do make sure that the HR's are original and not fake's or copies or some other local brand with the HR logo.

Hi Grules
I'd like to congratulate you on your new rims and tyres.
Butttt, I'm disappointed in Raja tyres (Deepak, Is it?). How can a "knowledgeable" tyre dealer sell you such a horrendous size (for the Indica)?
The stock size is 165/65/R13. The upsize should have been 175/60/R13.
With the 175/70/R13, you've gone up on OD by 35mm!

What problems should i anticipate? One thing i had to get corrected was to trim off the read mud flap a bit as it was protruding a bit inside.

For starters, your difference in diametr is +5.6%. So when you have done 100kms as indicated on the odometer, you have actually done 105.6 kms. The same with the indicated speed.

Other than that not much, I guess. You should have a softer ride!

Guys... I need some info on alloys. I intend to go in for a 14" or 15" 5 spoke alloy for my Chevy Aveo UVA. I need to weigh my options on both rim sizes, if you guys can suggest which size is better please do so.

Could someone also confirm the PCD of the UVA? Brand-wise I am inclined towards either Konig or Lenso.

Thanks in advance fellas!

Hey Lio.. how are you man? Good to see you here too

I think the PCD for Aveo U-VA is 100. Also, just go through this thread: Alloys for Aveo ??

Can't comment on the brands, someone else might have a better idea
