I see some offers on Amazon for XM2. Little skeptical of buying from there.

My car is in due for tyre change. Currently it is running on Conti MC5 205/55-R15. Planning to stick to the same size, else will go to 195 profile.
It is been more than 3500kms with the new tires and I am very happy with the performance. Felt a world of difference in comfort and braking. Went to Sakleshpur immediately after replacing the tire and went on some bad roads. No issues and was very comfortable. Even I had offers in online portals but went ahead with Tire Empire as I had the 0% EMI and also did balancing and alignment. Also, 5600 per tire did not look bad.

Thank you.

Which tyre profile did you go with? Stock size, 185?

Yes, I went ahead with the stock size as I was very happy with its performance. May be I would have upgraded to 195 profile, but did not have any pressing need to do so.

Apologies for the slow reply. I got the stock Apollo Alnacs 185s from Lal Tyres, Whites Road, Chennai. They’ve already run over 34k kms and no road noise like the OEM Apollo Alnac the car was delivered with. The retail tyres are performing better than expected. I still have 5mm tread remaining. Yes, I’m shocked too

Re: Skoda Rapid : Tyre & wheel upgrade thread

Hello everyone,
The stock Appolo's on my 2014 1.6 has run 50000 kilometers, now I'm planning on replacing them with either Michelin Primacy 3ST or Yokohama Blue Earth AE50 but very very confused since both these are among the most premium offerings in the market. An overall review or rating or comparison between the above two from users will be really helpful.
And I'm looking for 195/60/R15 size and I need a complete all rounder of a Tyre which is superior in all aspects please do give in your valuable feedback.
Thank you.

Both the tires are good. Much better than the stock apollos.
Primacy 3st is one of the best all round tires available in market.
Also tried and tested by many members here. I have done 40k kms so far and looks good for another 20k kms.

Below link you can find Gannu_1 feedback after doing 90k kms on 1st set of primacy 3st

So this was 3 years ago. The reading on my odo is 176000 or so. No tyre change in the interim. Regular rotation with balancing and allignment was all I did. So after about 115000 km, it seems it's time for another change. What is the current recommendation? I own a 2013 Radid diesel elegance.
I have been very satisfied with the yokos but just wanted to know if there is anything better available. This includes another brand as well as another size within yokohama range.

Well, my Apollo stocks had done over 50k with still some rubber on it, decided to go for Yoko S drive after reading a lot of reviews and feedbacks, been using it for 5k kms now, my feedback, the tires are absolute silent (cant compare it to Apollo), the difference is i widened it to a 205/55R15, no doubts about the traction control and cornering, slight visible dip in the pull however compensates for the overall looks and handling,

Re: Skoda Rapid : Tyre & wheel upgrade thread

So after 30k and due to uneven wear on the stock Apollos (195/55/R16) I decided to let them go and get new rubber for my MY17 TDI DSG. I was in my hometown, Kollam. The guy had limited stock and I had made up my mind to get the upgrade done no matter what.

I settled for Bridgestone B290, 205/55/R16. There's a significant change in the way the car responds at curves. The grip is superior and very confidence inspiring. The only drawback is the fact that I had to trade away in the looks department. The Alnacs did look sexy! I guess I should have gone for 50 instead of 55 but I guess that is made by a better handling car!

Re: Skoda Rapid : Tyre & wheel upgrade thread

I’m planning to swap my stock rapid Monte Carlo TYRES with similar size tyres. Michelin prima 3st is my first priority. Is there any other options? How much will I get if I trade in the stock tyres immediately after the delivery process?

Re: Skoda Rapid : Tyre & wheel upgrade thread

Hello All
I have a quick question and hope it is not too off topic. I have the facelifted version with the 16 inch alloys (Mid 2017 Style AT PLUS Diesel). The time has come for the tire change (50k) and I was wondering if I could go for 205/60/R16s instead of the 195/55s or 205/55s. Has anyone upgraded to the 205/60s on the 16 inch alloys?

Tks

Is it possible to use the Polo 15'' GT alloy wheels (PCD 5X100) with the Rapid?

Re: Skoda Rapid : Tyre & wheel upgrade thread

Greetings,
Can anyone highlight the differences between 195/60/R15 and 205/55/R15 when upsizing from the stock 185/60/R15 on rapid 2014 AT?
My understanding from the thread is 195s tend to give better comfort and ride quality and 205s offer better road feedback increase grip levels and cornering confidence. Also if you drive more in the city then 195 is preferred as 205 tend to weigh the steering a bit more.
Feel free to clarify and/or add. Appreciate you guys taking the time for this
Regards

I had 195 in Primacy 3st for around 65K Kms. It does have comfort over the stock size but bounciness felt even on slightly undulated roads.

But after changes to 205s, it is a dream drive now. it is more planted and more or less the same comfort as 195s. But weight to the steering is not felt much.
