These wheels look pretty decent on the sunny. Gives it a family look. These alloys some how remind me of the S320's alloys.

Michelin XM2 or Primacy LC for the Nissan Sunny. Please help

Hi Guys,I am having a Nissan Sunny XL. The stock tyre is MRF ZV2K 185/70/R14. The tyre grip is okay but the noise is very annoying. The options are Michelin Primacy LC and Energy XM2.Please suggest me which tyre I have to go for.

Primacy LC = 195/60/R15 (I have to upgrade to an alloy wheel and I am upsizing as well)

Energy XM2 = 185/70/R14 (Exactly the same size,no upgrades)

I would want to make the ride more stiffer and focus on driving dynamics (Remember, the Sunny already has a softly tuned suspension)

Please help,

Achyuth

For better dynamics, certainly up size to 15 inches. Since the XV Sunny already comes with 15 inches, you won't face any problems.
For better grip and stiffer ride, look for low profile tyres. 195/55 would work, but the ride would definitely deteriorate.

Is 185/65 okay? My requirement is a perfect balance of ride quality and dynamics.I think 185/65/R15 is the best option but it's only available with the XM2. Since the exact size comes with the XV dCi,I don't think there will be any problems.

Cheers,

Yes the 185/65 would be a good balance between the two.
Also keep in mind that manufacturers spend millions of dollars to select the best size. You need to be very sure of what you are doing to change their prescribed specs. So going with stock 15 size would be safer.
But if any bhpian has tried a lower profile, it would be good to hear from his experience.

Re: Michelin XM2 or Primacy LC for the Nissan Sunny. Please help

It has been mentioned in the Sunny's official brochure that the XV has 185/65/R15 tyres. That means the ride quality will be the same as the XV but the Michelins will be more comfortable than the Bridgestone OE tyres. Thanks for your valuable help agambhandari.

Cheers,

Nissan Sunny Tire Upgrades

The car comes with 185/70 R14 and I want to upgrade to 15" Alloys + Better Rubber.

1) What is the correct size? The car come with 185/70 R14 in XL .

2) I want to put atleast 205/60 R 15 (Dia 627 mm).

3) What brands of tyres would be recommended in this size?

4) I want to put Black alloys. Please do tell which brand to go for.

5) What is diff in rim width like 5", 6" or 7"

6) Black Alloy of 15" with 7" width is available. If it will be good or not in my White Sunny with 195/60 R 15 tires

In any further increase in tire diameter feasible? (To gain a little for ground clearance??)

I wont recommend it. The 16" would make the ride quite stiff.

The Sunny does not have a sport suspension anyway, so adding 16 inchers wont serve any purpose apart from looks.
