Yokohoma ES-100s

Wonder whats with this tyre... out of stock all over the place!!...

Any the tyre guys are trying to tell me its because this is a 'bad' tyre!... The alacrity with which they then go on to try to pawn somthing else perhaps is a good indicator of their motives..

BUt nevertheless - any truth in this?

Secondly - Anyone who finds one - please put the prices down for a 195-60/R14 - let me see if the logistics will even out...

I have them on my car and will vouch for them any day... trust me... of the 40K KM my car has done, this is the fourth set of tyres... I hvae tried them all, stock MRFs/Bridgestones, Goodyear Eagles, etc.... this was the best I have had so far.

Adit, did you mean 2900 ? I paid 3500 and KB constantly makes me feel I had paid much more than its worth... least I am happy now that he has to do the hunting

I have the same tyres, and the treads still look like new after 10,000Kms. You can see the tyre in my BHP garage.

It has amazing grip in both dry and wet roads, but not so great in bad roads, after all it is a street tyre.

Hey Viper...

How much do you think it will cost to send four of them thru "ABT" or something? ... It costs 40 bucks per tyre to for the Cochin-Coimbatore hop - about 200 kms (Courier will be expensive ... parcel services should be cheaper...)

BTW... are these UNIDIRECTIONAL tyres??... or can the tyre rotation be done as usual?...

Yokohama ES100's are uni-directional tyres so the normal tyre rotation routine cant be done.

Throw some light on it pls...

We have tested both the tyres on the same car and confirmed that GIII's are significantly better equipped to handle lateral forces. We also saw braking with GIII's was noticeably better!!!

We dont know the longivity of the tyres, but will find that out soon...

Dear 5u3zero,
please note that under absolutely no circumstances are you to ever contemplate rotating the tyres in your Palio even if it was not of a unidirectional variety the way its done on other cars. Please go through your car manual to find out that the tyres are interchanged on the same side and not to the opposite side and the spare tyre is not used in the rotation process. The only way to use the spare in your GTX is to buy another single new tyre of the same make and type as the spare and use it with the unused spare either in the front or the back. Bye and wear your seatbelts.
