Guys planing on getting new alloys and rubber. How much do you think avs es100 yokos 205/50 for 15'' will cost me? I found out in chennai. The guy claimed it is rs 4200/tire. What do you guys think?

Ranjan, you can get them at Golden Tyres on East Street Pune.

Guys, the Neova's are available from 14''. I am trying to chalk out a deal with a tire importer to get the Neova's down in a bulk. Landing time is 3 weeks I am told. I am yet to work out the rates per set of tires based on sizes. Once I get the entire deal sorted out, I shall soon be putting up a thread so that it would help all the Bhpian's get their share at Neova's. Kindly be patient. Will put up the details once I get something concrete in my hands.

I don't know how kindly Yokohama will take to this, if you begin to import and market their wares without their consent. You don't want to be in the middle of a lawsuit.

Or maybe since you now are a part of Yoko I hear maybe you can help us. Last I hear weren't you trying to import these tires too? Or would Yoko (Bangalore) be kind enough to get us these tires on order? Which they obviously don't seem to be obliging. And just for your info, the importer I am talking about is also the official importer for Yokohama in another part of the country. He is being kind enough to heed to our request and get a bulk order down unlike the other importers. So lawsuit is really the last thing on my mind.

Just FYI, there are no more importers for Yokohama. Since Yokohama India is now an official entity, all importers (there were 2) are now distributors. If the distributor is claiming he can import and sell tyres which YIL themselves do not sell, I don't know what it will lead to.

As I understand, people are free to import for themselves. But not for commercial purposes.

Infact, let me be more clear. Apparently it is one of the distributors (it skipped my mind that they were termed as distributors now) who has made this promise. So I don't think its of any worry specially to me on what objections YIL might have with him. He said he can get the tires in 3 weeks time, I guess this is being done with the consent of YIL for all we know. So let us not jump to conclusions just yet. Like I mentioned earlier he is yet to chalk out a final plan and let me know. Its a different matter if he will be able to provide us good rates post which we will be in a position to order them. So let us be patient.

Btw, doesn't YIL's brochures have the Neova's too? Wonder why they won't sell them here? Could you clarify this since you seem to be aware of the inside story?
