Ideal size shold be 205/60 R15. Another thing is that if u get tyres that last long, u'll have to compromise on the grip.

Even average performance tyres usually last more than 20k kilometers, there must be sumtin wrong with ur cars alignment or suspension.

Goodyear's suck but 20,000 kms is too low, there could be some other problem in your car please check. Stock tyres should normally last 40000 kms.

High performance tyres will also last more than 30,000kms on normal usage.

Older Octy's came with GD NCT3 tyres which had many probs so the later ones came with GD NCT 5 i think. These days they also come shod with Bridgestone tyres...

And Goodyear's don't suck...check outt he Eagle F1 series

Eagle F1 series also suck! I have heard a lot of bad things like losing grip after 20000kms, excess noise, low life, etc. from many people.

Eagle F1 are performance tyres so u can expect them to last like 35-40k kms like the other tyres. Yes, 20k might be a bit low, but when they work, they work!

And they usually work fine till arnd 30k kms, the case ur talking about might be referring GTO's Merc. Maybe he could comment on that..

Have to disagree with you Karthik I ran F1's on my VTEC as the second set and was pretty disappointed with them. They are BLOODY noisy, the sidewalls are too soft and the general comfort factor is too low. On mildly bad roads I had bulging sidewalls on two tyres and as a result had to replace the set only after 30k kms. The road noise level is very very high but the grip was very good.

I realised the differences after I switched to Michelin Energy XM1's they are super quiet and comfortable and the grip is also exemplary. After changing the tyres the differences were immediately apparent within the next 5 kms. Comparatively the F1's were very poor in comfort and road noise.

Well, never used Eagle F1's so dunno abt the noise levels n stuff...but u have to agree on the grip factor.

Other brands to check out could be Dunlop(SP9000) and Bridgestone(GIII) and Michelin (Precida). And yeah there are Yokohama's and Pirelli's too...

Long lasting but less noisy tyres...means u'll have to stay away from performance tyres cuz they won't last more than 30k kms.
